We were staying at the nearby Comfort Inn. The hotel had a 10 percent off deal here so we decided to give it a whirl. The hotel didn't have a kids menu persay, but they were very accomodating. They offered cheeseburgers, chicken strips etc. Additionally we could pay for a kids salad bar, so we were very happy and the kids had a great meal.

Us adults had a good selection from the menu, and the salad bar was offered for the entree's. Everything was delicious. The price was right too! We'd have another dinner here for sure if we found ourselves in the area again!

Restaraunt staff was very friendly to us as well!

Old supper clubs like this one may get unfair scrutiny due to what I've come to expect from them. However, when you serve frozen, factory breaded cod on a Friday Fish Fry in WI you are asking for it. If you go, set expectation level low for salad bar and fish fry. The people were nice and the location is convenient for us. My wish is that they bring in a fry that is worthy. The location and facilities are good. Fix it!!

I watched the server restock the salad bar today. She took the cherry tomatoes right out of the plastic container and dumped them into the salad bar. Do they not wash the veggies before serving them to us???

We met some friends who live near Waunakee for dinner and chose Rex's Innkeeper on a Saturday night (3/23/13). Although the hostess showed no personality and didn't even greet us, and kept us waiting for a table for four when we could clearly see about a dozen empty tables, we sat down and had a pleasant waitress experience as we ordered a round of drinks and then, our dinners. The food was on par with cafeteria food. One Chicken Cordon Blue dish was barely edible. Another "roasted" chicken dish was actually deep fried, crisp on the outside and rather pink on the inside, barely edible. My prime rib, which had been ordered cooked as "medium to medium well" was brownish on one side and bloody pink on the other, since the chef apparently forgot to turn it over. Plus, it was also quite a fatty cut. Verdict: This must be the only restaurant in town, since it was packed for an early seating on a Saturday night, but served food that could only be described as "poor" and a "poor value." The bright note was the very nice woman who was our waitress -- she was very pleasant and very professional.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely prime rib dinner Saturday night at Rex's Innkeeper. The parking lot was full. We were a little worried we would have to wait for a table. But, most of the cars belonged to people attending a private party which was occurring at the opposite end of the building. We were seated promptly in the warm and inviting dinning room. We ordered the prime rib special and had the choice of three cuts, English, Queen and King. Prices were reasonable and ranged from $13.00-$19.00. The meal was complete with soup, salad bar, fresh bread, and side of potato. They also offer a full menu. We will go back again.
