We visited Rock River Pizza tonight and had the worst dining experience I can recall in years. The restaurant is in need of maintenance with several large areas of the ceiling are peeling badly. Service has been slow on past visits but nothing like this. It took 30-40 minutes to be seated, even though they had several clean empty tables. A party of 16, and three other tables that were seated after us (one at least 20-30minutes after us) got served before us. In fact the table of 16 ate, and paid before we got our pizza. The waiter apologized several times and stated he didn't know why our order was taking so long. When our pizza finally came out, I asked to speak with the manager. He was unapologetic, said others "called their orders in ahead" (four tables!)? Is that why they ordered from a menu? And "sometimes a 30 to 45 minute wait happens." Well not to us because we won't be going back. I felt bad for the waiter. He kept apologizing. An annoying night out ending up costing us about $50.
