Great prepared food and people who work there are very nice. Nice to go for sandwiches, hot food dishes and coffee is great!

“If You Like Food, Don't Miss This Place”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

I can't believe that this is the first review for the Food Coop, which is a kind of grocery story with food service. If I lived in Viroqua, I would pitch a tent in the aisle and just eat. Fresh fruit and veggies from everywhere, esp. local; cans of locally roasted delicious Kickapoo Coffee Roasters coffee, a whole endcap of high-end dark chocolate bars (often on sale). For me the high point is the huge selection of fresh made scones, muffins, and cookies (including those cream cheese cookies you only get at Italian weddings) and coffee drinks. They make outstanding sandwiches to order. There is also cafeteria style prepared food available for breakfast lunch dinner. I've never tried it because I have a steam table aversion, but local people come here for their meals. For the complete foodie, you can also find artisan cheeses and meats from the organic farms in the area. The place is super clean and everyone is friendly. When I'm passing through Viroqua, I get bags of their fresh baked goods and Kickapoo Coffee to take home.
