“What a bike ride.”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

Although it was hot the day we rode, the trees in the forest helped shade us from the relentless ride. The only disappointment were the flies who didn't bother us on the ride itself but when we stopped, oh boy. Awesome trails and would certainly recommend if you are in the area.

“Beautiful and Scenic”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

We drove through the park and picked out future camp sites to reserve for our upcoming trip. The park is awesome. They have what seems like miles of beach. We spent some time relaxing on the beach. We are looking forward to camping there soon!

Great location, things to do. Careful for the beach, it is sometimes closed thanks to Milwaukee not getting their "crap" together.

“Small lovely park on Lake Michigan”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

This state park has hiking trails which include a portion of the Ice Age National Trail. The trails are in good shape and well marked but you should wear bug spray and probably long pants if you plan to go off trail, as there is poison ivy in many places.

You will need a state park sticker to drive inside the park. And you may not have cell phone coverage here. There are bikes for rent at the concession building which is only open until 5 pm. You can get most everything you may need- bug spray, sunscreen, sand toys, and fast food items. You can read about some of the ship wrecks at a sign on the bluff outside of the concessioin. There is a handicapped beach access ramp. Great view of the sunrise from anywhere in the park on the lake.

There is a camping area which is rarely full. Nice and easy access to the beach. Although you can't rent boats here, it is a nice place for kayaking. Water is cool, but people do swim here. It's shallow for a long way out. There is a small nature center where you can learn more about the local wildlife, and it's staffed with senior center volunteers so there are only a few hours per day.

If you like lighthouses, there is one here which is still working. You can't go inside, but it's interesting to see. There is a cottage next to it which is rentable if you have a military ID and is managed by the Coast Guard at Two Rivers. Had a great time living in the cottage for a week.
