My husband and I chose to celebrate our 29th anniversary in Two Rivers. Seeing that the Lighthouse Inn has lake views we decided to stay here. The Mariner Bike trail is one my favorites, following the lakeshore to Manitowoc. Inland the temperature was near 100; in Two Rivers it was in the low 80's. The room included a mini-fridge and microwave so we ate breakfast prepared in our room, but sat outside on a swing facing the lake. I would definitely go back. I'd love to see a storm out over the lake:-)

I wish I could stay at this hotel every weekend. Just 2 of us for a relaxing, romantic, get a way. We stayed 2nights, rented bikes for a few hours, rode into town and did some awesome shopping- ate at the hotel restaurant several times, the food was good, not superb, but good. I didn't think it was outrageously priced, maybe a little higher, but the service was good, the dining room view of the Lake was also beautiful. We sat at the bar for a couple drinks, had a fantastic after dinner ice cream drink. Again the bar also has a great lake view. We walked in the morning and usually ate breakfast out. Our room was Lake-view and it was wonderful. It was large and the view was fantastic. I loved it. We walked the beach a bit, sat on the bench by the water and enjoyed the view. Our room was spacious and clean, and with the window open we could hear the waves. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub one night all to ourselves. We bought tickets at the front desk at check in to an entertainment show they had on the property. It was an Elvis type impersonator. It was fun, he did a lot of Elvis, and many more, his grandsons played in his group with him. There is a bar upstairs in that same room, but a larger variety of drinks at the downstairs main bar and you could leave and come back as there was a hand stamp. It was fun- something different to do... I have no complaints about this hotel, only compliments. The weekend was wonderful and I cant wait to go back. I wish I could go every weekend!

I have stayed at this hotel many many times. There are good things about it like a nice bar, lake views from some of the rooms, free internent and near a nice bike/walking path. It's also not too far from the beach. The only not so good news is that the rooms are more motel like and basic. If you stay, ask for any specials and sign up for their frequent guest club for deals.

Room Tip: Eat at the restaurant! Every meal is wonderful!

The room was clean, looked like new furnishings. We had a view of the lake. There is a great walkway along the lake right next to the Inn. Not a lot of little extra's, you are basically paying for the room. There is a restaurant on the grounds, but looked pricey. Ladies at the desk were extra nice.
Cons, you have to have someone from the office to come and open the gym and the pool.

Mom and I decided we needed a nice little getaway to the shore of Lake Michigan. After just a couple hours drive from her home, we came across the Lighthouse Inn in Two Rivers. Off-season price was just right. We were able to open our window and listen to the waves. It was relaxing to have a decent restaurant on the premises as well. Mom was able to relax and nap for a bit while i enjoyed a run/walk on the deserted sandy beach. We asked for a late checkout time the next day and enjoyed breakfast delivered to our room by a very cheerful young lady. Breakfast was hot and good and we ate it to the sounds of a song sparrow serenading outside our window. The hotel is a bit older, but the rooms were immaculate and plenty spacious. We requested a disability accessible room and had first floor near the lobby. It was very quiet. We did not take advantage of the indoor pool, spa or exercise room. I would have appreciated a hair dryer in the bathroom...so bring your own! There was a microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker so we did appreciate those. Staff was friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

What a great find this place is. Lunch was delicious, filling and well priced with a waitress who kept an eye on our water glasses. The evening bartender was attentive, friendly and made you feel very welcome. The morning room service rocked as well as the breakfast that was delivered. The front desk was handing out towels for the pool before you could even ask. These people know what they are doing and how to run a hotel. Very well maintained rooms and views, views and more views. Two Rivers is very lucky to have such a treasure. I will be back.

Room Tip: Don't miss the lake views!

My wife and I celebrated the New Year at the Lighthouse Inn and had quite a disappointing time. We booked a room with a Queen bed and received a double. When talking to the front desk about this, we were told that it was a "Hotel Queen," which is smaller than a traditional Queen. We've stayed in quite a few hotels, and I've never heard of this, and still, while further researching it, have found nothing on a "Hotel Queen" size bed.

After settling with our smaller than expected bed, we enjoyed the view of the lake from our room for a bit and decided to go to the restaurant for drinks and dinner. We were told that our table (that we had reservations for) wasn't quite ready, so we went to the bar to have a quick drink before dining. Our reservation time came an went with nobody letting us know that our table was ready. After some time, I went to check on it, and the host replied with "Oh yeah.... I can seat you now." I went to back to the bar to get my wife and then we were seated. In a dining room that was barely more than half full we the two of us were given a table for four situated closest to the kitchen a restaurant entrance. Not the ideal situation. I looked and saw some more available seats, and asked if we could be moved to a better location, I was quickly told that the rest of the tables were reserved. Upon further inspection, I noticed that some of the "reserved" tables had coffee cups set on them. It turns out that these were prepped for breakfast already, and were not reserved, so we sat at our drafty, high traffic table, so that the restaurant staff would not have to clean a smaller table for the convenience and enjoyment of their guests.

We once again settled, and when our dinner came, our steamed vegetables were cold. We watched as other diners enjoyed complimentary warm bread which wasn't brought to us until we asked for it. and even then was served cold. We both got the special which was crab and shrimp stuffed lobster. It was good, but being the most expensive thing on the menu, it's "okay" taste didn't really remedy the rest of the evening.

We vocalized our complaints with our server, not raising a fuss, but with the money we were spending at the establishment, we wanted to get what we paid for and have a nice evening. The server apologized and said she would get the manager. However, instead of speaking with the manager, the server came back giving ten dollars off our bill and a coupon for a percentage off breakfast in the morning. There was little effort here by the staff. Management should have had the common courtesy to address the concerns of its guests. We were given the excuse that it was New Years and it was busy, but the restaurant was emptying out by this time, and the staff appeared more interested in getting done with work and getting on with their night than being there for their customers.

We have gone to the Lighthouse Inn in the past for New Years and have had wonderful stays. But through the years, it seems they have lost there way. The total lack of care from the staff for their guests comfort will make this our last visit to this establishment. A disappointing New Years celebration to say the least.

Room Tip: Lakeview rooms are nice, but Lake Michigan is pretty big, there's probably a better hotel to go...
