“Great room suite!”
Reviewed December 30, 2010

We stayed here during a snowmobile trip to Turtle Lake. Have 2 teens so asked for a suite. It was like a small 1 BR apartment! Seperate BR w/ king bed & newer TV. Queen pull out sofa bed in large living room w/ newer TV. One huge bath off BR with jaz. tub & huge walk-in shower. Plus 1/2 bath off living room, wet bar, small frig. All for $90/ weeknight w/ AARP ten percent discount. Twenty percent if you have a St Croix Casino club card upon check in.

Heating system was very quiet. Large pool looked nice (didn't use it). Sofa bed was very soft but tolerable. Very poor (worn) sheets, blankets, + frayed towel in bathroom were disappointing to see in such a nice room.

The shuttle to the overflow trailer parking and nearby casino (walkable) is about every 10 mins. Really, it is. Continential breakfast is simple. WiFi did not work in room nor in lobby.

Peeked in the regular hotel rooms and they look pretty standard. For the extra few dollars, this Suite was well worth it!

Their web site says each suite is "themed" but was told they are not (and ours wasn't).

After driving a very long way, we found this hotel on the highway. We had tried to stop at another hotel but there were so many hunters around with their prized dead deer, I couldn't stay. So thankfully we went on and found this hotel. It wasn't snobby, it was caual and friendly. Being joined to the casino next door it was busy but they had plenty of rooms which were comfortable and very clean and baring in mind where it was, it was very quiet. A very good nights sleep. Recommended!

This place is like staying in a nice Super 8. That is the best way to describe it. Basic room - but clean for the most part. Housekeeping only comes in if you ask for it (due to the 24 hour casino) - but that wasn't a big issue. The hotel offers a basic breakfast bar (bread, cereal, bagels, limited donuts) - so you can at least put some carbs into the tummy before heading out or to the casino. The casino does wind up getting people to walk the halls of the hotel day and night - but most of them are seniors who are respectful of others trying to sleep in the rooms.

Be sure that you get a membership in the TLC club over at the casino before booking the room. You can get very reasonable discounts on the room if you are a casino club member (free to join) - as well as some casino money to blow on blackjack and a food voucher. I was in the area for business and not to gamble - but the hotel room discount and the meal voucher were well worth the club sign up!

Over all, not a bad place to stay - basic, but exceeded my needs.

(I travel all over the country with my job, and I contribute on EVERY hotel I stay in. Trip Advisor has been a great tool for me, and I contribute fairly, for both good and bad facilities.)
