We picked up takeout BBQ on a Saturday at 11, just as they opened. Dining/seating area is not a real option. Good variety of sauces available for sampling. Favorites were balsamic and red onions sauce and sweet Memphis blues sauce. We ordered two sandwiches: pulled pork and smoked chicken melt. Pulled pork was dry, bun was uninspired but portion was enough for two meals. Smoked chicken melt was grilled in butter, moist, and flavorful. The men had a full rack of piggy ribs and a lb of beef brisket. Brisket was too thinly sliced and very dry. Ribs were average. Overall, sauces were the best part of the meal. Mac n cheese was very cheesy and had either cayenne or some form of dry red pepper, too spicy for some. Slaw was reliable and helped the pulled pork Sammy from sticking to the roof of my mouth. $50 total without beverages makes it a little pricey for takeout.

We made a return trip to Porktropolis on a Wednesday night for a late supper. The place was quiet. We chose sandwiches and one of the variety of about 15 BBQ sauces. Each came with a side--one of us got coleslaw, one the dill potato salad and one the fried potatoes. The sandwiches were huge. Mine was the beef brisket--more like shredded beef, very tender but a little fatty. Good flavor. The others got "The Wolf's Revenge" a pulled pork. It looked good and leaner than mine. We will undoubtedly be back again!

Being from Texas, we were worried about what WI BBQ might be. We were pleasantly surprised. Very small unassuming place. The owner walked us through the menu and sampled the sauces. He even offered us some meat samples. It was all quite tasty.

This place is great. Little BBQ restaurant located off Hwy 151... and shares the building with an ammo shop. The BBQ was very good, they also do catering (pig roasts, etc). The owner was there to give us some advice on our selections and a 'sample'. They have several flavors of BBQ sauces to choose from, all in little sample cups. There are only a few booths, we planned on taking out but opted to settle in at the restaurant. I really hope this place makes it, it's a bit off the path, but worth it to us.

I recently got takeout at Porktropolis, the brisquet and the pulled pork were both very good. They have samples of the different sauces that you can add to the flavor of the meat. A nice choice of sides.

I've also had the ribs, quite delicious.

If your looking for BBQ and your in the Sun Prairie area, make the stop.
