My wife and I were in Racine for the weekend for her Ironman 70.3. The original hotel we had reservations with months in advance double booked, which resulted in us scrambling for a hotel in the area at 4:30 pm the day before her race. Most hotels were booked, but fortunately we got the last room at the Day's Inn. The price was a bit gouged for one night (we spent more for one night than two nights at the previous hotel we booked with), but at least we had a room to sleep in.
When we arrived, the front desk was very courteous and while they offered us a late checkout of 1 PM, that was going to be too early for us. Our room had three double beds in it, which may have been another reason the price was high. The staff did inform us they were going to have breakfast starting at 4 am for the athletes, which was very accommodating of them. The rooms were nothing special, but it did the job. The morning of the race, the hotel also was giving free bottles of water to the athletes to take with them for the race. While not a big deal, they went out of their way to be as friendly as possible.
If you're looking for a place to sleep for the night, this Day's Inn was just fine.
