Stayed here for a fun weekend away with the girls. Loved the property with the bar, restaurant and patio overlooking the water. Unfortunately the rooms are in desperate need of an update. Everything was old and worn out in the room and it smelled a bit musty. I would definitely stay here after they update their rooms.

Stayed here for business in October 2013. The resort grounds were very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room is what made the resort just "ok". It was a tiny queen room. The bed was not comfortable and the pillows were too firm for me. The smell of the room was off. It was kinda floral and kinda cedar? It was strong and weird. They have multiple types of rooms and I did hear others rave about their room size and amenities. I had room 100 if you want to avoid that. The bar was great and had nice views of the bay and bridge. Nice location in sturgeon bay. Easy walk to restaurants. I'd recommend this hotel as long as you get a room other than the one I received.

Room Tip: Avoid room 100 if you want something larger and with a view.

We had our wedding there on September 14, and it couldn't have been more perfect thanks to the Staff and Nancy at Stone Harbor! They went above and beyond our expectations and always made sure to listen to what we wanted! They have the perfect setting for just a relaxing weekend away in door county, gorgeous by the water, awesome bar and restaurant and very clean facilities, and they do amazing at weddings, from being accommodating with having a room to wait in before we walk out for the ceremony, then providing a set up for cocktail hour with a nice bar and appetizers, to having the reception hall set up exactly how we imagined it because Nancy worked well with the other professionals we had coming. She took all the weight off our shoulders so we could relax and enjoy our wedding. Before, during and after the wedding people were telling us what a beautiful place we chose to have it at and dinner was delicious! We would highly recommend this as a vacation spot for a getaway or to have your wedding there! We wouldn't have done it any other way and this will always be where we stay whenever we go to door county!

Room Tip: We've stayed in multiple rooms at different times at stone harbor, the best advice would be to t...

We went to a wedding at Stone Harbor Resort Sept 14, 2013 and stayed the night. The wedding was outside with a after reception outside and the dinner was inside, the wedding was great. The only thing I can complain about is the actual resort rooms, very run down. The room we stayed in had a dirty carpet and a broken window, my Brother's room was just terrible he made us go look at it, filthy carpet and the room had been painted with patches of a different color. In no way were these rooms worth the money they charge.
It is time for a make over or clean up on the resort rooms!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the bay, but the higher floors, also be aware of the outside bar might be nois...

We had a room on the 3rd floor, facing the pool. The room was quite cramped and it would have been nice to have a small frig or wetbar. The facilities were well kept and the setting along the water was beautiful for a wedding. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was very, very slow. Check-in and check-out involved a long line. Would probably try it again on future visit to Sturgeon Bay. Maybe we would opt for a suite to get the extra space.

Stayed there as a wedding guest. Had a double queen room with a balcony. Balcony overlooked the pool and patio which was very nice. Our room was small. No refrig. Did not realize that the beds were different, one was very firm (board like) and the other was rather comfy. Unloaded our stuff on the wrong bed, and ended up sleeping on the firm one. For one night it was okay.

We stayed a few days in August. The place is fairly old but still in very good condition. We had a three bedroom condo which is a one bedroom with two adjoining hotel rooms. that was all fine. But wouldnt you think if someone is renting a three bedroom (that sleeps 10 people) we may need more than 4 plates and silverware etc? We didnt call and ask either, but I dont think they would have provided us with enough. We asked for more diswashing detergent and they were only able to spare one packet. I know it is extra to dock your boat there, but cannot comment because we had cold weather and were not able to bring it. Also NO GRILLS. really? What kind of resort doesnt have a grill on the property. Probably not a big deal to most, but we want to be able to grill out. I emailed ahead to ask this question. And got a less than friendly response from the front desk manager. So I was already unimpressed with this place. Very close to downtown and close enough to walk to some shops and restaurants. Inn at Cedar Crossing is very good. We didnt eat here so I cannot comment on that either. NO DVD Players. really? We had a bunch of kids and couldnt even get rid of them with putting in a movie. Again not really a big deal, but it was to us. We brought a gaming system for the kids and they couldnt play that either. Pool areas are very nice. I dont need to go back here. Plenty of other places in Door County.
