Description: Driving by, it may not look like much is going on, but walk in the door and you'll find our original knotty pine walls and bar (that date back to the 1930s), friendly faces, and a menu that the locals keep coming back for. We don't do things too fancy, or too crazy, but we put a lot of effort into making sure your meal is fresh and delicious and (with the exception of, say, quinoa) pronounceable! The local perch is always a hit, but try our excellent chicken, shrimp, steaks, and other favorites! Oh, and save room for our homemade dessert-- it's always scratchmade and usually heavenly!

“Good Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014

Visiting Sturgeon Bay, WI (doorway to Door County) and looking for a good restaurant we of course check Trip Advisor to see what is recommended...
We opted for the Cabin - the drive along Bay Shore Drive was nice...some beautiful homes and glimpses of the Bay...
Restaurant is small, service was slow, but the food was very good. We ordered the 8 oz. grass fed sirloin - cooked to perfection, sea food chowder was good (could have been a little warmer), and the dinner rolls were outstanding - pretzel rolls and made by the owner. Best ever...
Bought a few extra to take home.
Overall the food was very good - service was slow but attentive. We would eat here again.

“Good food off the beaten path”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2014 via mobile

I ate here on a Fri night with my mom and sister. It is a little off the beaten path, but the drive was interesting since there are a lot of big houses along the bay. The parking lot was small, but full. We sat at the bar for a drink and enjoyed a delicious old fashioned made the right way with muddling sugar, bitters, cherries and a slice of blood orange. We gave our order at the bar and were seated once our soup and salads were ready. I had the clam chowder. It was very good and had large pieces of clams. There were also fresh pretzel rolls on the table. Yummy! For dinner I had an 8 oz tenderloin with onions and mushrooms. It was delicious! My sister had the broasted chicken with red potatoes and Cole slaw and said her food was also very good. My mom had a salad and a perch plate. She said the lettuce was a little sandy and her perch was crispy. The service was very friendly but a little slow when we were ready for our check since it was very busy.

“One of our new favorites”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2014

We've been happy to have a few meals at The Cabin and it's one of our favorites. Anyone traveling to Door County, Wisconsin should not miss this wonderful little place. The food is fantastic - be sure to call for their nightly specials. And the desserts...wow! Dangerously good! One our most recent visit, we found out they had added New Glarus Brewery's Belgian Red Door County Cherry Beer to their drink menu. Nectar of the gods, that stuff! Made a wonderful restaurant even better.

“African Peanut Soup!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2014

The prime rib was excellent. The salad was fresh...but the African peanut soup blew me away! My friend had a pork chop and he's still raving about his cherry applesauce. A must go to in Door County. We were too stuffed for the rhubarb torte...but we're going back!!!!!!!

“Oh so Good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2014

Spent our 40th Anniversary in Door Co.. The night of our anniversary we went to the cabin for supper. I had called earlier in the day to set up a surprise desert for my wife. The service was excellent, waitress was very attentive and friendly, in spite of being deluged suddenly with a rush of costumers. The food was Great. We both had fish meals, cooked to perfection. And the desert was wonderful. Now the atmosphere is not all "la tee da", its down home Wisconsin décor with the sounds to match. We Loved it, helped US remember our roots. We'll be back :~)
