Nearly passed it by last spring, but saw an add and went. HUGE FUN - great little museum - the building is beautiful - and the diorama is beautiful and educational.

This is one of best free museums you'll every see. It has lots of character and artifacts. Kids will love it. Best of all is that it's FREE!

Interesting place with so much to see. The taxidermy is amazing with so many types of birds, animals and even a salamander. That is just the beginning with a lot of items and photos going back to the earliest settlements in the peninsula. All the items of everyday life and many inventions from those in the area. The fire equipment and history including the great fire that killed so many was quite a display. The hearse and other items from the funeral service was so interesting because it not something one usually see. This place is a must see for those who love history.

So much to see, nicely presented and very informatively labeled - everything from local industry info and artifacts to everyday life both child and adult as well as the fire engines. We didn't think we'd spend more than 15 - 30 mins, but spent over an hour - best local history museum we've visited and we have visited plenty. Highly recommended for both adults and children. Admission is donation only, they suggest $4 for adults.
