“Great place to stay !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 10, 2012

This was our 1st trip to Door County, and we decided to stay at the Bridgeport Resort as it was located close to what we had planned. We were able to check in early and just LOVED the room we had. The bed was very comfortable. Even though it said it was a "city" view, we could still see the harbor. The pool area was very nice. Hot tub was just the right temp. The free use of DVD's was nice too. If you want a great place to stay, this would be a VERY good choice. We will most certainly stay here again on our next visit to the Door !

Room Tip: 3rd floor Falcon rooms are really nice sized and a good price.

We stayed here two day for our visit to Door County. It was super nice. Free juice and coffee in the lobby all day. The outside of the hotel and the area that surrounds it is just beautiful. We sat out with our friends in the evening to enjoy the weather and the bay! There are many nice stores and restaurants within walking distance.

In the Spring of 2012, my wife and I were looking at accommodations for our August vacation in Door County, Wisconsin. We had spent many days mapping out where the local motels were and what amenities each contained. Then, we narrowed down our list to a dozen or so choices, and we made our way up to Door County.

Our first stop was at the Bridgeport Resort. We came in and met the front desk staff who pleasantly detailed the various options at their Resort. We requested and received a tour of the rooms, and were taken on a full showing of all the different types of rooms contained in the Resort. We thanked the tour guide, left the Bridgeport Resort, and proceeded to check out our other motel choices... but, we were always comparing what each other motel offered to what was offered at the Bridgeport Resort. At the end of the day, it was clear what motel we wanted to spend our vacation at.

The online booking of the stay was easy, the site explained our options, and we secured our lodging. August finally came and we checked in for our vacation.

We were given Room 121, a beautifully decorated and accessorized room with a living-dining room, full kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom with whirlpool bath, king size bed, and patio door with access to a balcony with table and chairs. The living room had a comfortable pull-out couch and 2 plush chairs, a gas fireplace, and a large flat-screen TV and DVD player. The dining area had a family sized table with 4 chairs. The kitchen counter snack bar came with 2 bar stools. The kitchen area included a full size dishwasher, full size microwave, full size refrigerator with an icemaker, toaster, blender, coffee maker, and was accessorized with a full compliment of silverware, dishes, pots and pans, and serving dishes. There were plenty of cupboards to accommodate anyone's foods and items. The bathroom included a separated standing shower, and contained plenty of wash cloths and towels. The whirlpool tub in the bedroom was spacious enough to comfortably fit two people, and ran quietly. The king size bed was both spacious and comfortable. A standing wardrobe and built in chest of drawers completed the room. The bedroom TV was the only item that seemed inappropriate because of it's small size (we like to sit in the whirlpool tub and watch a DVD movie) but did include a built-in DVD player.

The indoor pool area was located directly across from our room and included a large pool and large hot tub area, and was connected to an outdoor pool. Right next door was an enclosed children's play area, and an enclosed workout room with a full compliment of exercise equipment. There was also a small store area containing a plentiful selection of foods and snacks and toiletries, plus clothing and wine selections for purchase.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the Bridgeport Resort, and would highly recommend this place to everyone. For the money, it was well worth the price of admission. We have found our Shangri-La!

Room Tip: The lower suite that we were in would be more suited to a family as it is located right across from...

This is the best place to stay for a trip to Door County. It is centrally located for car trips up the peninsula as well as for walking to places of interest to locals and tourists alike. And, with 3 pools, a jacuzzi, exercise room and welcoming common areas, it is also perfect for just relaxing. The perfect get away place!

Bridgeport Resort has been the destination that my family, friends and even church retreats have returned to over, and over again since 2005. I have recommended this resort to many people as well as have booked countless retreats, parties and personal stays, both family and romantic get aways. The service is always top notch and the staff are wonderful, always making us feel welcomed. The location is very convenient to the charming city of Sturgeon Bay, hosting a fabulous Saturday Famer's Market in the summer/fall as well as other scheduled events all year long. The old steel brige connects the Bridgeport to the city streets and is a beautiful walk across the waters of Sturgeon Bay. Can't wait for our next get away!

For the past 5 years, my husband and I have traveled to Door County, Wisconsin, to visit friends and enjoy this beautiful area. We have stayed at the Bridgeport Waterfront Resort every time. The resort is centrally located in a charming neighborhood with great restaurants and shops. A couple of blocks away is the main downtown area, with additional places to eat and shop; everything is within a short walking distance. The Bridgeport offers a great variety of rooms (we usually get a Falcon suite) many that have kitchen facilities. Our rooms have always been roomy, comfortable, and clean. A large, warm common space on the main floor is perfect for relaxing with family or friends by the fireplace. Complimentary coffees and juices are offered 24 hours a day. We also like having the free wi-fi access and coin-operated laundry facilities on every floor. The ladies at the front desk are friendly and willing to help with any questions or special requests. These are the reasons why we return to the Bridgeport every year, but there is even more for families or groups (swimming pools, work-out facilities, snack shop). Not only is Sturgeon Bay, and all of Door County, a delightful destination, but a stay at the Bridgeport make it even better. We look forward to our next visit to the Bridgeport.
