$88 for 2 adults in the middle of the week for an outdated motel is outrageous!!! When we drove up, we were already concerned because of the overgrown bushes and deserted look. We laughed and coined it the "Bates Motel". Our room also had a musty smell and stains all over the carpeting. The Fitness center was worn-out(belt slipping on treadmill and free weights rusty) with no ventilation. The pool area was very nice-large and clean. The breakfast was nothing special. We had to wait for the sausage and eggs. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Room had a humid moldy smell upon entering. Coughed up mucus after two night even with A/C on. Decor is 70's and not updated throughout hotel. Breakfast was less than I have seen in continental at other hotels. The only hot items were sausage patties and "egg patties" that looked worse then fast food. No fruit, pancakes, waffles, yogurt, etc. Basically those two items and a few breads. Fitness equipment was old, low end and in disrepair. The pool was quite nice and large which was the only thing I could say positively about this hotel. I was so disappointed relative to what I paid that I to find a site to log my feedback. One last example, the $14.95 fish fry - I saw the front desk receptionist cooking the fish patties in their little "kitchen" next to store by the front desk. It's what I would expect in a rural B&B maybe, but not in an advertised fish fry costing $14.95.

I stayed one night at the Spring Valley Inn. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was decorated in sparce faux-Wright decor. Nothing fancy but serviceable. The downside was that the room was pretty filthy. I'm glad I brought my flip flops. I did not let me feet touch the carpet at any time. The arts and crafts decorations on the furniture were covered in a thick layer of dust. Other reviews said the same thing but I took a chance based on some good reviews. I would not go back again.

My wife and I and our two adult children stayed in two rooms. On the plus side: clean, comfortable (though small) rooms, pleasant staff, a comfortable lounge area, outdoor patios, convenient to all Spring Green attractions, and a free hot breakfast buffet that included eggs (scrambled and molded into sandwich rounds), sausage, OJ, coffee, muffins, bagels, English muffins, and cereal. Also nice: A huge pool (though a little cooler than some), hot tub, sauna, steam room, and a better than average exercise room. The downsides: limited dinner options in the restaurant; no vending machines (though there is a well-stocked pantry/gift shop that's open until 8 p.m.) the free wi-fi was a bit spotty; and the in-room table was too small meaning that we had to use our laptop in bed.

We have stayed here when coming to see plays at American Players Theater for the last 8 years and loved every stay. The country setting is great and we love to watch the birds and wildlife through the restaurant window's large expansive glass. The feel of the place is definitely Wright's style, down to the custom made furniture. The inviting pool area has a dry and steam sauna, whirlpool hot tub, along with a decent workout room. Wi Fi is free and they now have a yummy hot continental breakfast. The staff is friendly, above and beyond helpful, and always willing to go the extra mile for requests. The close proximity to all the attractions, i.e., Taelisin, American Player's Theater, House on the Rock makes it an excellent choice for a weekend stay.

We're very satisfied patrons, and have always been pleased by the quality of the staff and the rooms we've rented.

Friday's fish fries and wines/beer have been a delicious treat.

Returning from the very nearby theater, relaxing around the outside firepit with friends (and even strangers), and enjoying Pat's supplied wines and after-dinner drinks while enjoying the dark sky with tons of stars, has become one of our most memorable moments, and a comfortable way to end one's day.

We look forward to such times again.

The foremost gems of the Wyoming Valley are the American Players Theater and Talesin. After enjoying an evening of Shakespeare or a day with Frank Lloyd Wright, there is no better motel in the area for a good night's rest than Spring Valley Inn. The motel is located a 10 minutes drive from either attraction, and is set back in the tall Spruce trees which guarantee a quiet night's sleep. The motel has large rooms which are true to the decor of Frank Lloyd Wright and are spotlessly clean. Each bathroom has an abundance of luxurious and sweet smelling towels which give the appearance of "having never been used." The Duvet lovers of Europe will feel right at home with the "fluffy poof " covering each bed. The inside lounge area serves a limited hot breakfast and simple but delicious light dinner and bar choices. The outside lounge includes well spaced tables, chairs and a large Fire Pit which invites patrons after a busy day. There is a large indoor pool. Our friends and we always look forward to our delightful excursions to APT, Talesin and Spring Valley Motel.
