APT is a lovely experience--both indoors and out. Outdoor evening performances have the added benefit of a moon rise over the stage! The indoor theater in the round is particularly inviting. All productions we've seen--modern and classic, comedy and tragedy--all have been very good. As a bonus, the gift shops are very nice too!

The outstanding quality of the productions is most important to this venue. The actors, scenery design for outdoor theater, costumes, and lighting design are professional. There is now an indoor theatre available for productions.
I have never been disappointed in the several productions I have attended at this venue. The plays are chosen for their depictations of fine drama. Shakespeare is always represented as is Shaw, Miller and many other brilliant dramatists.
Good food is available to purchase for pretheater out-door picnics. The scenery is lovely, The walk up the hill to the outdoor theatre is invigorating. There is a bus for those who would rather ride to the performance. Bug spray is available for chasing the mosquitos. It is an excellent way to spend an evening/afternoon.

Given paper napkins to wipe the rain from our seats all the patrons bundled up under tarps, blankets and big, view-blocking umbrellas to await the start of 'All My Sons' final showing. A colourful and amusing sight made even more enjoyable by the slightly over priced roast nuts we'd bought at the concession. Then: 'we are told this rain cell should pass in 20 minutes time so we are going to delay the start in the hopes that happens'. The rain got heavier. Then eased off and stopped. Emerging from our wet cocoons, umbrellas stowed away, the play opened... we stopped wondering 'why no wet bottoms?' as the actors sat or lounged on chairs on stage or even the stage itself...the play was increasingly engrossing, very well acted and incredibly powerful. What a night. Highly recommended!!

We have been coming to APT for years. The 2 venues of the outdoor theater and the Touchstone are wonderful values. We will continue to be patrons for many, many more years. "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern" sparkled with energy and laughter. Antony and Cleopatra was strongly anchored by James Davita and cast. 11 out of 10 in our book.

We just returned from the matinee performance of The Two Gentlemen of Verona. From the minute we walked in until we finally gave up and left it was raining quite hard. The acting was probably pretty good but having to get soaking wet to watch it was not. There was no offer of a rain check made to the audience so be sure to check the weather before you go because the show goes on no matter what the weather is.
