“Tremendous Bed and Breakfast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 2, 2011

Outstanding location, lots of open space! Stayed in Presidential Suite, very nice. Bed extremely comfortable, whirlpool very comfortable. Don and Donna very hospitable. Breakfast was great! Don played different selections for us on the player piano, and Donna was more than willing to show us all the different accomodations they have to offer. They have tons of choices from smaller rooms with no hot tub to large cabin with multiple beds and full kitchen for groups. 2 disc golf courses with tremendous elevation changes if you are into that. My wife and I went for a walk on the grounds and enjoyed the fresh air. Also have two beautiful Siberian Huskies that are very friendly and two llamas that you can feed as well, which was just a great touch! We also enjoyed a trip to Sparta and enjoyed a stoll through downtown. We were very impressed by the friendliness of everyone we encountered.

Photos on website are very deceptive as cabins are very small and way over priced. Also had flying beetles common in the fall that we had to fight off. Breakfast was so so as I am not a big fan of deer sausage.

The location is great, not too far from town yet nice rural setting. They need to start over and build bigger, nicer cabins.

Our Scout troop biked the Sparta-Elroy Trail for the 50 miles segment of the cycling merit badge. The tent camping area of Justin Trails was just the right spot for us. Easily located and ideal for a large group, this camping spot offers privacy and beautiful surroundings that would make any back-to-basics camper appreciate the eco-friendly ways of the Justin family. My only regret was that I could only stay one night and not two as the others of our group. We don't get to see stars like this in the city! The campsite was away from the main action of the Justin property, but close enough in case of emergency. THank you for a wonderful stay!

Every place has its good an bad. This place's good definately outweighs its bad. We had a wonderful stay and had lots of fun and relaxation. I will go ahead and list the good and bad for you to see. (We stayed in the Paul Bunyon cabin for 3 nights with our 3 children and 2 dogs.)

Good:
-The cabin had enough beds for us all and they were all comfy
-The whirlpool bath in the master room fit 2 people and the jets worked wonders on our sore bodies after spending long days outside
-Don and Donna were super friendly and helpful
-Donna's homecooked breakfasts always included some little treat we all enjoyed
-Our dogs were able to go tubing with us and walk around the property
-The hill for tubing was the fastest hill we have tubed down
-Donna gave us all some great cross country skii lessons and even our 7 year old had a great time!
-The resort has lots of beautiful property and is small enough where we were not crowded during any of our winter sport activities

Bad:
-The owners had family in the weekend we were there and catered to them instead of us (like when we wanted to do some of the winter sports things that were included in the resort we had to wait until their family was going to do those activities because they didn't want to do them at two seperate times)
-They asked what our favorite breakfast choices were upon check in and then ran out of them our second day!
-They told us one price when we booked the place, then told us a lower price at check out and we gladly paid it. A few days later they called us to apologize for their error and charge us the initial amount.
-The cabin's kitchen was a little cramped, and was only really meant for maybe 3 people to eat in.
-The bunk beds top bunk had a direct view of the bed in the master room (so don't count on any privacy!)

But I would definately recommend this resort to family and friends. I just don't like to give a review of only the good or bad....I like to give a fair review of both aspects so people know exactly what to expect.

Spent two nights in the Presidential Suite. Picked Justin Trails because it was so pet friendly on its website. I had my two dogs with me and there were areas where I could go cross-country skiing with them. (The rules for dogs were really reasonable so don't worry if you're not a dog person - they aren't running loose everywhere).

Close to the Sparta bike trail, 10 minute drive with car.
Great country atmosphere, main house and buildings and gorgeous flower gardens nestled in a little valley surrounded by beautiful rolling wooded hills.
A family farm for generations, turned into a most wonderful bed and breakfast.
Hosts fun, friendly, helpful, professional.
Fun, chatty atmosphere in the restaurant/breakfast building.
Llamas Dusty and Rusty are too cute and funny!!
We want to return!
