“Off the beaten path.... Don't miss it!!”

I do agree this place could greatly improve upon their customer service. But we were going for the baked goods, and our expectations were exceeded in this area! Do NOT miss the "dewy chewy peanut butter cookies"!! They are expensive but well worth the price!! They run out of them, so call ahead to hold some!! The Corsica bread is something they specialize in too.... Fantastic!!

“Great Bakery -Now has a Great Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2010

I really don't know what the last guy was talking about; his family must have thought they were at Chucky Cheese! This place is like a step back in time or a trip to a European bakery overseas. Everything is from scratch, where do you ever find that anymore. We also had breakfast here one day, WOW the Cherry Oat French toast was as they say to die for....... served with real Door County Maple Syrup. My wife had the quiche of the day and loved it.
We found the staff to be not only helpful but knowledgeable and we had our teen daughter with us so there seemed to be no built in bias regarding children. The service was great!
Anyway the Bread is outstanding and very fresh. I believe you will also find a little bit of guilty pleasure here, have a sweet, enjoy a cappuccino and just sit back and close your eyes and you will be in heaven

“Worst customer service and non family friendly place in Door County!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2010

Our family was addressed so rudely by the owner during our visit that our children were in tears. We immediately left before we had the chance to have the "overpriced" lunch. I would not waste my hard earned dollar in this bakery. The owner and staff are less than friendly and do not welcome families with children. This visit was one of the worst experiences of my life and would not recommend this bakery to anyone. I will be surprised if this bakery makes it within the next year or so. Given the economy, please think twice before spending your money on an establishment that does not appreciate you. You work too hard to waste you money!!!!!

“Great bread. Horrible staff”

The bread here is great, but the owner is a really terrible individual. His interactions with a family in this establishment forced me leave. It's hard to believe that the owner would be so rude to customers.

“Fresh Food Good Service Local Excellence”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2009

This is a great bakery with great breads, and deli and wine selection. Great coffee. The bakery is owned by Bob Thompson's son .. (Bob of Peninsula Players fame). Great place to spend a moment. Just down the road from Chealsea Antiques ... enjoy!
