“One of the best in Wisconsin”
Reviewed January 1, 2011

This place is a traditional Swedish restaurant not only food wise but even the girls wear tradition Swedish costumes. The staff are fantastic all the girls do a great service. The food is amazing but can be a bit on the pricey side. The atmosphere is amazing. No problems here it's so good that I would have to say that it's one of the best restaurants in the whole of Wisconsin.

“Enjoy their swedish pancakes”
Reviewed November 14, 2010

We had tried this restaurant for dinner without a lot of success, so we were hesitate to try them again. This time we tried them for breakfast and enjoyed ourselves. The food was much better and the service was decent. The swedish pancakes were a fun treat. The overall atmosphere is just alright, but the goats on the roof are fun. We still wouldn't go here for dinner, but it's worth a try for breakfast.

“Great visit”
Reviewed October 8, 2010

I am Swedish and looked forward to visiting this restaurant and gift shop. It was everything I hoped it would be. Complete with live goats enjoying their time on the roof! I had the Swedish pancakes with fresh strawberries. A must have! I also ordered the Swedish meatballs and was little disappointed in them. They seemed more canned than homemade. The gift shop is worth a visit. But hold onto your money...........as you can spend a lot of it easy. Great stuff.

“The Door County MUST! Great food & great times.”
Reviewed October 7, 2010

There is no other resaurant that comes close to Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant & Butik (not pancake house). I first enjoyed Al's when it was just a small counter and about 4 tables and Al was busily bussing the tables with his blue towel and there were no goats in sight. The food is divine - from Swedish pancakes with lingonberries to meatballs and a great burger to boot. How many places can maintain quality for more than 50 years? You CANNOT say you've been to Door County if you haven't been to Al's.
