“Great food, lovely atmosphere, cool goats.”
Reviewed August 26, 2014

We went in mid-afternoon, thus avoiding the lines at mealtimes. Food was great, service was very good, hot chocolate served with a huge pile of whipped cream - which was a little odd on a hot day but sure tasted good! The gift shop was fun and we couldn't leave without a goat of our own.

“Goats on the Roof!”
Reviewed August 26, 2014

This place has a grass roof with goats on it! Real life goats! A good enough reason to go, but the food was amazing too. Highly recommend the Swedish pancakes, but everything we had (meatballs, chicken fingers, fries, eggs benedict) was really tasty. Lines were long, but moved quickly. The store was cool, too!

“Went To The Butik”
Reviewed August 24, 2014

Wanted to eat there and give it a try, but the line outside was too long with over an hour wait. So we just went shopping in the Butik and found a very nice shop. We purchased several items of good quality at a reasonable price.

“Good Food, Kitschy Fun!”
Reviewed August 24, 2014

We had just rolled into town and picked Al Johnson's on a whim. It's hard not to smile here with the servers dressed in traditional outfits and the grass on the roof. Ordered the swedish meatballs with mashed potatoes. Came with soup, picked the broccoli cheese. Soup was good, nothing special but the meatballs were delicious! The gravy was perfect. It came with green beans that were cooked with red peppers and purple cabbage. I couldn't get enough! My husband had the eggs with swedish meatballs, his first time and loved them. Our server was so nice, overheard her tell the next table that her mom worked there when she was her age. Love it's long tradition! Fun place for all ages.
