“Awesome roast beef”

The food was awesome! The waitress was a bit slow it took around 7 minutes for her to get to our table to take our order. The goats weren't on the roof when we were there. Will be back!

“Great Place - Goats were there - Poor swedish pancakes”
Reviewed July 16, 2014

Extremely busy 4th of July weekend. Great atmosphere but way too busy & loud for me too many people in one place. Breakfast bar got us in quick, service was really good. attentive waitress biggest disappointment was the Swedish pancakes. Stockholm Inn in Rockford, IL is way better. Al Johnson's was thick and texture was tough for a pancake. Maybe just the busy weekend caught it on a bad day. Otherwise a great place to visit!

“Wonderful Swedish Restaurant”
Reviewed July 15, 2014

I have been there many times. We have never had anything less than a great meal. At Al Johnsons they take great pride in their food and their restaurant. We especially love their Lake Perch on Friday nights, and on Saturday nights we love the split pea soup, the best anywhere. If you love hot chocolate in the winter, they serve it in pewter cups with almost more whipped cream than drink. The kids love it. They have the best swedish pancakes and swedish meatballs, that you will find anywhere on the Door Peninsula. As added bonuses, don't forget to look for the goats on the roof, and shop in the authentic Swedish Boutique.

“Pancake special is where it's at.”
Reviewed July 15, 2014 via mobile

I have to admit, I came for the goats. As a science teacher and environmental enthusiast, the grass mowing goats got me. The food was a side note but delicious none the same. Husband and I split the Pancake Special; 2 eggs, Swedish pancakes, and 4 meatballs. A great deal and a great price. The meatballs and pancakes were both traditional and very satisfying. It was definitely enough for us to share. Good, attentive service.

“A true delight!”
Reviewed July 14, 2014 via mobile

Wow! If you have kids you have to go to Al's. The look of sheer delight on the faces of the children when they see the goats on the roof was well worth the wait. We loved the Swedish pancakes! I had mine with the fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Yum! My husband had to be different and ordered a hamburger for breakfast. He thought it was great and probably even better then my meal. NOT. This was my favorite meal during our entire time at Door County.
