We have a home in Door County so we are up a lot. And when friends and relatives come to town we take them to Al Johnson's for breakfast (because meals other than breakfast are really mediocre).
The Swedish pancakes and meatballs are always good. But because it was Sunday morning, and Father's Day, it was crowded. And I understand trying to turn tables to keep people from waiting too long.
We were a party of 8 so we sat at a large table not far from the entrance, where Lars, the host, stands to keep an eye on the open tables and seat guests.
And this morning, he spent our entire breakfast yelling at the top of his lungs over our heads to the staff to try and motivate them to rearrange tables and chairs and clear tables faster.
And I mean, yelling. Top of his lungs. The entire hour we were at breakfast.
I can get Swedish pancakes elsewhere where no one yells over my head the entire time. I'm going to really have to be pushed to go back to Al Johnson's again.
