What more to say? SHEENA, the on-sight manager goes out of her way to answer any and all questions and is beyond helpful. Village-View is smack dab in the heart of Sister Bay; right next door is the bowling alley with, yes, bowling and great burgers; across the street is Husby's for late night musical entertainment; and shops abound.
I had a one bed room which was squeaky clean; bathroom in perfect order; flat screen color tv with many channels (sorry, it's not in HD which would be nice); mini-fridge in the room (no microwave, though; we always bring my own toaster anyway (sometimes even a toaster oven.....be sure to have it by a window with the window open or the smoke alarm may go off!!!). Sheets AND towels are 100% cotton!! Finally, a motel with an understanding of simple basics. Had a small table and two flat backed chairs; no upholstery, though. Be nice to have a lounger? (I can spend a good deal of time in my room; I don't care where in the world I am.....). Strong Wi-Fi signal with 5megs down but on an unsecured network...no password needed so anybody and their dog within range can log on with their smart phones to avoid data usage. Every room has a small a/c in it so if there are sounds one doesn't desire, simply close the windows and switch on the a/c. Yes, as is previously noted in another review rooms above the office are pretty much on Hwy 42 and across from Husby's bar which can get a bit rowdy at night, live music and all.....but we heard nothing when the windows were shut. Never heard another guest in the motel or even a car in the parking lot for that matter. (The only reason the room isn't getting 5 bubbles is due to their compact size; more than enough to NOT feel cramped, though. We never did).
Housekeeping is thorough and friendly; more than happy to provide extra towels if needed. Soap and shampoo provided by the facility. If you need/want an anti slip thingy for the bath, just ask and it magically appears. Grounds are immaculate and full of colorful flowers and super green grass; outside chairs for sitting.
Coffee and rolls in the morning.....need to go out for real food and there are a lot of places to go to get just that.
It's a great place staffed by great, friendly people. We'll be back and that's for sure. Thanks Sheena and staff.
