Our family had a wonderful experience staying at Blue Harbor. Fast check in, followed by beautiful clean room, with super comfy beds! And our lakeside view, was breathtaking! We had the family suite with two queen beds and pull out sofa. PLENTY OF SPACE! Loved that the room was equipped with fridge and micro as with a family of 4 its so much cheaper to enjoy vacation without going out to eat all the time. Saved us tons of money! Although we did get some ice cream, coffee in the hotel (which was way too pricey) That alone is my only complaint, the pricey items within the hotel itself, as to be expected tho. The beach nearby WAS easy to get to without having to climb down bolders as many other reviews stated. Clean sandy beach with beautiful clean water! The waterpark was great for our 2 and 7 year olds, but dont see it being much fun for older children. I actually thought the waterpark would be larger then it actually was, but all in all the kids had a blast!

Room Tip: The higher floors feature the better view of the lake.

My family stayed 3 nights--2 nights in the Captain's Suite (which does not show up on their reservation options--that needs to be fixed) and the 3rd night in a loft suite (the Captain's suite was not available the 3rd night; we made plans last minute) we loved everything!! It reminded us so much of the Pink Shell Resort in Fort Myers...minus the jellyfish, sea weed, salt water and cost of air fare to get there. The water was crystal clear, and you could walk for yards into the lake and only be thigh high in the water. My boys ages 5, 11 and 14 cannot wait to go back. If you've been to the Dells, the water park is smaller, no doubt, but it is still wet. We loved going from the beach, to the outdoor pool to the water park and back to the lake again.

I don't get why they don't have a path to the beach in front of the resort. The boulders you must climb up or down ARE very dangerous. I asked the gal at the front desk if there were any drop offs we should be aware of out in the water, she didn't say one way or the other, rather we should be swimming at the public beach down the way. ???? It is amazing how far out you can walk into the lake, and that's why I asked, I sure didn't want to see one of my boys "disappear" from a drop off. I think people staying at the resort expect to use the resort beach and not the public beach. Can someone answer why there is no path?

The service in the main restaurant is very slow. We read that on here, so we were expecting as much. The service at the breakfast buffet was pretty much non-exsistent, and we stood waiting for too long for the omelette maker person to come back to make omelettes. It was like we were invisible. My husband actually had to go get our own water, again, because we were apparently invisible. Needless to say, we ate there one time only. Funny thing is, the Pink Shell in Fl had the same exact service issues as this place!

Beware the Italian restaurant across the parking lot----eeewwww-----no kids menu (owner clearly does this to keep kids away--hello!!! This is across the street from a family resort) he came across smug and arrogant--I believe because we had kids with us. And the food was mediocre at best.

We were trying to think of something last minute to do Labor Day weekend and really considered going back to Blue Resort, but with school starting on Tuesday, it is a little longer drive than we'd prefer. So, we will be going back next summer and will stay longer. We want to do one of those fishing guides while we are there.

The website reservations availability is not always accurate. Website really needs a resort map. Resort fee is quite high and ups the nightly charge significantly. But, it is cheaper than going to Florida.

Parking IS free. Someone mentioned they had to pay. Not the case.

Found a great through-the-week discount rate and stayed three days in July 2012 to fish on Lake Michigan. Room had refer and microwave allowing us to bring own breakfast fixings and drinks. Located very close to the fleet of fishing boats. Beautiful view of the lake with an adjoining sandy beach.

Room Tip: Inquire at checkin for a room with a lake view.

Our family stayed here 2 nights in mid August in a four bedroom villa. The stairs up to our villa were unexpected but we all managed them. Perfect water-park for our 2, 4 and 8 year old kids. The location was perfect next to the beach, spa, restaurants and walking paths. The villa was spacious and just right for 3 couples and their children. We brought our own food and cooked our own meals. I was surprised that we had to call to have the garbage taken out and ask for more towels but, they were taken care of promptly. I would stay here again in the future. Overall, a good trip.

My wife and I just got home from a relaxing 3 days at Blue Harbor. The upgrades to the facility are very nice. The lake view, grounds, amenities and staff are all first rate. The outdoor pool is great, especially with the outdoor bar. Our bed was super, the room (whirlpool w/fireplace) was great and had lots of plush towels! We know Sheboygan well and know there is much to do in the area so management needs to do a better job of communicating options. That said, it's a great place for young families (waterpark!), couples (moonlit strolls along the lake or river) and large family groups (condos). Highly recommended.

Room Tip: I would suggest at least a 2nd floor room on the lake side - better views. You might want be on the...

We recently spent 3 nights at the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan WI. While the facilities themselves were great (view of lake, water park, etc.) there is a HUGE lack of service. When we tried calling the front desk (several occasions) to ask questions, no one answered even after some 30 rings. They claimed they were very busy at the time, but we were able to have someone look from the balcony directly at the front desk and there were 3 people "working" behind the counter, no customers and still our call was not answered. Also our bed sheets were not changed nor the room vacuumed (we had two young children with us) even though we asked twice - and even left a written note! Not only were the used (dirty) coffee cups not taken away, but no clean ones were left either. The top sheet on the bunk bed came totally untucked as it was not made to fit that bed and rather than remake the bed, we came back to find that the sheet had simply been wadded up, placed on the table in our room, and the bedspread pulled up with no top sheet on the bed. Food was medicore but the water park was great and being on the shores of Lake Michigan was awesome. Forget the room discount promised however - we were conned out of that!

Room Tip: Find a different resort in the area

My family and I stayed in one of the four bedroom condos. We stayed during the week so we got a 30 % discount. It would not have been worth the price without the discount.

PROs: Condo very roomy. We were a group of 7 adults, one child, and one toddler and had more than enough room. We enjoyed the balcony for evening cocktails when the kids were asleep and morning coffee (we did not have a lake view). Very quiet- we had other people in our building (four condos to a building) and couldn't hear a thing. Less than a 5 minute walk to a very clean beach with shallow water. My three year old loved the putting green. Water Park good for one rainy day. Staff at the snack bar in water park were outstanding! Very accommodating and helpful. Ice cream shop across from hotel very good. My three year old loves trains and they have one that goes around the entire shop. Breakfast buffet very good for only $12.95 per adult (children were only charged $7). We ate at two great restaurants for dinner- Brisco County Wood Grill and Highland House. Both very close to the resort, casual, and reasonably priced (compared to Chicago prices).

CONs- The condos are on the far side of the resort so it is a bit of a walk to the main lobby area, but right next to the water park and beach. The four bedroom condo was on the second and third floor of the building. This should be detailed in the description. It does say they are not handicap assessable but that doesn't mean they are on the second floor. There were at least 20 stairs to get to the second level which were hard for Grandma to handle. The beds were horrible- very uncomfortable. We did not have any extra pillows or blankets in the room. The condo was supposed to have pots and pans, but had only one frying pan and it was rusty. None of the remotes worked. When we raised these issues, it took two days to correct. We rented a DVD player, but when we got back to the room it didn't have the cables necessary to connect. They did NOT clean the rooms- simple left clean towels and made the beds. On the last day we had to call for more toilet paper. The outdoor pool is way too small. We tried to go twice but it was too crowded. And this was during the week- I can't imagine the weekends!! I believe the pool is new- they should have made it much bigger. Security at the water park was non-existent. There is a side door that was propped open- people were freely moving in and out without wrist bands. There was outside food and drink everywhere, kids without swim diapers, toddlers swimming (under water) in the whirlpool!! Gift shop did not have enough things. They should have significantly more items for the beach. Shop at water park way overpriced. No other shopping in town. We had dinner one night at Il Ritrovo. Service was horrible and pizzas overpriced and bland. We were very disappointed given the high ratings this restaurant got. PLEASE ADD A MAP OF THE RESORT TO THE WEB SIGHT!

Overall, we would go back but only because of the quality and proximity to the beach.
