It’s a relief to find a place in the heart of Wisconsin that serves more than brats and burgers. Most of the menu here is pork-centric but the chefs do apply some creativity to their offerings. The PAT sandwich (pancetta, arugula and tomato jam) was the winning order at our table. The “Crispy Pancetta” salad was a basic Caesar, topped with pancetta; simple but good. Pork-stuffed eggrolls were hot and tasty but heavy – they could have used an infusion of vegetables to lighten them up. The friendly, pubby atmosphere of the Black Pig is pleasant and unhurried. We’d sure come back here if we’re ever in the area again.
