Manata Lodge
Reviewed April 14, 2014 via mobile

We stayed at Manata Lodge on our Honeymoon in April 2014.

The location was beautiful and the room fantastic. For a couple of Aussies, the underfloor heating and heated towel racks were a real bonus!

Our later arrival and activities during the week didn't give us a chance to meet our hosts, but the room was lovingly attended each day, and on the one day we asked for it not to be, the lovely handwritten note was a great personal touch!

All in all, a great stay, and we would recommend them for sure.

We spent 2 wonderful nights at Manata Lodge and would highly recommend it. The setting is so peaceful with beautiful gardens and out of the hustle and bustle of town and a great place to return to after a busy day. The room was huge and comfortable and included a fully functional kitchen and the room opened onto a private patio overlooking the tennis court. Sarah (the manager) was lovely and was available when needed, without invading on your privacy. A lovely homely touch were the bicycles, sports equipment, DVD's, books, Wifi, washing machine and drier all free of charge and available for use. We plan to return in winter and will definitely be booking back here.

I spent 2 days in Manata, and it is wonderful. Honestly, the location is not the best, it is quite far from the downtown and you definitely need a car. But the lodge it self, facility and all the settings are simply the best.
Esther was very nice to me, I like the way she welcomed guests. Eventhough I wanted to see her a little bit more often to ask if she could ask the guest upstair not to move chairs and table (or smt like that) at 11 pm, as it made big noise in our room. Btw, it is not their fautes and just a small point.
I will always remember our lunch in the garden with the super view of snowy mountain. For sure will stay here again when I come back to Queenstown.

I booked via GrabOne and this was our first trip to Queenstown. We had a rental so thought the location was really good. A short to medium drive to lots of sites and attractions. Out of the hustle of town the grounds are lovely and private and the tennis court was an added bonus (although new balls might be a good idea). We didn't use the bikes but they were also available and a nice extra. Everyone seems to be on a bike in Queenstown! Very comfy, clean and generous sized room with good facilities. The only downside to the La Grande Damme room is that you can hear the comings and goings of your neighbours, although I guess you get that in a lot of hotels. Nice, friendly and helpful staff from initial enquiry through to checkout. Would definitely go back. PS: King sized bed and Free WiFi too!

Excellent place to stay and very quiet. Sarah and the owners very nice and were conscious not to be seen unless needed. Fantastic stay. We were away most of the day at activities but on returning it was like coming home. Very restful.

Room Tip: We had the 2 bedroom suite with an extra bed as we have 3 children.

Upon reaching Manata Lodge, I soon found myself blissfully asleep upon a bed inside the Pavilion Suite. The long night with both our families finally took its toll on me. While I was snoring my head off like an oversized barbarian; My beautiful wife was soaking in the tranquillity that is Manata Lodge. Which she soon shared with her well rested and super recovered husband. To see the very breath of life' peacefully dancing within my wife's aqua eyes; As she beheld her surroundings, can only come from a small piece of Heaven here on earth. Sarah thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful Manata Lodge, Truly a home away from home

We were on our 2nd honeymoon -48 years down the track and couldn't have stayed at a more beautiful, luxurious or hospitable place. Met at the airport, incredible accommodation in a botanical garden setting and made to feel one of the family. Near to Queenstown and a shopping centre, mountain bikes supplied, dvd's, books and games.
Would recommend Manata Lodge to any type of family - something for everyone.
Service was excellent, quiet surroundings and beautiful bed and spa bath - slept well.
