“PLEASANTLY SURPRISED”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

After going to the hotel for years we were pleasantly surprised with the new menus and prices. Happy hour is from 3 to 5 with pulltabs for a chance for some great discounts. The meals were an excellent deal. They have daily specials which is a very excellent deal. The wait staff and bartenders were courteous and fun to be with. the owner came out special to see if we were satisfied, which we were. If you haven't been there for a while I recommend you give them a second chance and I am sure you also will be pleasantly surprised.

“We didn't stay....”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

So so so disappointing. We got there at 6:30 on a Saturday night. The place is always jam packed. We walked in the back door to find one of the tables in back occupied. Generally they are ALL filled! We each had a beverage. In the past you had 2 or 3 before our buzzer went off. We sat down and noticed there is no more soup offered on the salad bar. It's now an upcharge. We did notice the antiquated wallpaper is down with new, fresh paint and a brick decor. The back bar now has tables and chairs versus the booths. Nice touch...but the menu is something left to be desired. It's the size of a wine menu and my favorite entree (the pork tenderloins bits and pieces is no longer there and not even an option to be ordered). We ended up walking out and went to a different place where we had a fabulous meal. What's going on here? This is small town USA! This 'upscale' change isn't going to cut it. The owner kept eyeing us as we were looking again and again at the 'wine menu' and watched us as we walked out. She never said a word to us. Sorry to say we will not return. We left our Entertainment coupon on the the table - - - maybe someeone else will take advantage of it. Goodbye Hotel Seymour!

“Wow, say it ain't so!”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

What happened?!? We visited Hotel Seymour tonight for the first time in over a year...what happened?!? 6 months or so ago they tried to charge $10 for the awesome soup/salad bar and it backfired on them big time. You are in Seymour and now your business is suffering. The soup is now 4.25 and the salad bar is a far cry from what I remember from my 7 or 8 previous visits, such a disappointment! The food was ok, albeit a tad expensive. Many customers could be heard complaining of the changes and the place had an empty bar and 60% full tables on Saturday at 5:30. A waitress stated to a customer seated nearby that people are expecting a full soup and salad bar for a $17 dollar meal and that is too much given the food prices, especially meat have gone up. Make the money off the bar, price the meal at $17-18, and if you need to, make it soup or salad or charge less for the soup. A small town is the wrong place to overcharge.

The restaurant was still being remodeled and was very cold.

“Great!”

I never much paid attention to the food here and I pass it every day for work. The seafood alfredo is delicious! The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice and peaceful and it can be very family friendly atmosphere!

“Pretty good food for the price and location”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

This place used to be a two hour wait on a weekend... which I wouldn't make a habit of signing up for. However, things have slowed down and it's just a short drive from Green Bay for a decent meal in a comfortable setting at a reasonable price. I've had steaks a few times, which are decent. The shrimp were good the one time I had those, but the Chicken Cordon Bleu is darn good! NOTE: not the true version you'd get in a delightful French restaurant - but in it's own right, it's decadent (deep fried and swimming in a cheese and cream sauce), very tasty, and something I limit to a very rare treat! Unfortunately a wine list is non-existent and they do not allow a corkage fee if you wanted to bring a bottle to enjoy with dinner.
