We have only ever been here for the fish fry, so I can’t comment on the rest of the food. It is the best in the area, so good they serve it two nights a week! A comment - fish fry on Friday is a Wisconsin tradition, served with cole slaw, potato salad, and for some reason, one slice of light rye bread lightly buttered. No, I don’t know why. Lost in the mists of time. But most of the fish frys are simply horrible. Cold fish, greasy, terrible coating. It is just amazing to me that something so basic can be so messed up. I have had fish and chips all over the British Isles and never had a bad meal, from the tiniest chippie in the smallest town to big pubs in London. But the Northwood of Wisconsin is stymied by the recipe.
But not Moondance. They get it right. Great fish fry, terrific drinks and a gorgeous lake view.
BTW - it isn’t in Rhinelander, it’s in Sugar Camp, a town 13 miles north of Rhinelander.
