“Yes, a tad "shady"”
Reviewed August 21, 2014

We've been here before and never felt the disappointment that we did last night. We ordered an entree to share. There was nothing on the menu nor were we told when we asked for an extra plate that it would be an extra $4 but it sure was on the bill. Usually when we share a entree and pay for a plate, the extra plate is served with the vegetable, but we got only a plate for our $4. The ala carte potato I ordered was by far the smallest potato I've ever been served and was certainly smaller than the other ones served at our table. The service was slow, and unprofessional. The food for our party of six did not come all at once. We had to ask for things that are normally spot on such as crackers and bread and refills. Four of our group ordered their pecan pie and asked for it to be heated. It didn't seem to any of them to have been. One told the waitress that she was disappointed that the pie wasn't heated. The waitress replied that she heated some. Must have been some served at another table.
The only reason I didn't rate this lower was we've previously had a good experience.

“Great Place”
Reviewed August 13, 2014 via mobile

Good drinks and good food. The crackers with cheese and bread snacks help meet our minimum standards for Wisconsin supper club. Everybody was quite happy and we will be back. We could even be back this week.

“No Fluke!”
Reviewed August 10, 2014

We were hoping our second dining experience at Shady Sue's would be as pleasant as the first and we're happy to report it was! Atmosphere, food, value and bartender Ted are all factors in our five star rating. Loved my pan fried walleye and HOT, crispy fries!

“The most awesome steak you'll ever have”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

We enjoy a good tenderloin or prime rib when we dine out: Shady Sue's is by far the best! We travel and hour and a half round trip just to eat there! Be sure to make reservations as they do get very busy. My husband is a rather large guy, so for him to leave a restaurant full is quite amazing. Great salads and soups, potatoes cooked to perfection, and a bartender who REALLY knows what he is doing! The best apple martini I've ever had!

“Great Wisconsin Food Stop”
Reviewed April 9, 2014

On a tip from Sheraton Madison desk clerk, stopped here on way north for dinner pan-fried walleye. Nice sized portion, lightly pan-fried, fairly priced. Ordered the twice-baked potato (a rare item in a restaurant). Their drink menu has Golden Cadillacs and Pink Squirrels...I used to make those many years ago. Blast from the past. Locals place. Friendly, quick service. Would return.
