Great burgers and breakfast menu with that old diner feel. Used to come here years ago quite often as a teenager.

“Great little burgers.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2012

Loved the little cheeseburgers. Fries were good too. Service is fine as long as it's not packed. Like at lunch time. Had a malt that was good also. Location is a kind of awkward. Have been eating here forever when I get downtown. Will be back!

“A bit of nostalgia and some great comfort food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

In trying to leave the Racine Art Museum (a fun place with always interesting and worthwhile exhibits), we stumbles upon the Kewpee Sandwich shop. I knew about Kewpee burgers but didn't remember that there was a location in Racine. We joined a large group of visitors and locals who were waiting for a counter spot of table to sit and enjoy the tasty, old time comfort food. The standard hamburgers and cheeseburgers are the best, with handmade patties and classic buns. The chili is great, making you think of homemade chile your mother or grandmother made with beans and tomatoes and lots of ground beef. The homemade root beer with free refills was amazing and I am something of a root beer enthusiast. The fries were thin and classic. And based upon the folks around us, the root beer floats are not to be missed.
Overall this place is well worth the stop and time to enjoy a piece of the 1940s or 50s. The kewpee dolls are very entertaining to check out as you wait for your food.

“Great Burger Joint!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2012 via Local Picks

Kewpees is THE place to grab a burger in downtown Racine. The diner style atmosphere is quite nostalgic. I love bringing my children there for a burger and root beer float.

Kewpee's is a must every time we visit Racine. The in-laws have been coming to Kewpee's for delicious burgers and shakes for generations. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. The burgers are a little small, so if you are hungry, order a double! The root beer is delicious, but I can't resist (although I should) a creamy chocolate malt. The fries are old-fashioned crinkle cut. Among the best of the mom and pop burgers I've had. The only reason Kewpee's didn't get a "5" rating is because of the lack of seating. The place is usually packed at lunch and every seat is taken. People circle like sharks looking for people who are finishing up their meals. The food is worth it though!
