We visited the building on June 21th. The parking is on the corner of 14th and Franklin Street. You need to make an reservation online. We went for the Legacy Tour. First you see 2 films in the theater of the Golden Rondelle Theater. One of 25 minutes (To Be Alive!) and the other of 1 hour (Carnauba). During the tour you will see the administration building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. They are doing renovation works on the tower. The inside of the building is interesting and innovative. In the Fortaleza Hall you will see the Carnauba, the airplane with which they went to Brasil. Be advised that it is a very long tour, you have to stand most of the time and not whole the tour is about Frank Lloyd Wright.

It's hard to get excited at the thought of touring an administration building for a company making floor wax. (And no, they have nothing to do with the Johnson & Johnson that makes band-aids.) But you should, even if you don't know Wright from wrong (nyuk, nyuk). The 2 hour tour is the one you want. A good look at Wright's work plus a reasonable amount of Johnson self-promo.

Frank Lloyd Wright may be the most acclaimed architect in history, but his works are generally more visual than practical. Tour any of his houses - including Taliesin - and you'll be fascinated, but really, would you want to live in any of them? Especially at their high construction costs? The Johnson Wax admin building is an exception. A century ahead its time, it is still visually stunning as well as an excellent work environment.

The self-promo part is actually quite reasonable and leaves you with a positive impression of the company. We never realized they make a number of other products that have long been favorites in our household. And in the future we'll be more likely to buy their brand.

Parts of the 3.5 hour Legacy Tour are very interesting and fun to see and hear. Others parts contain too much self-indulgent praise by/for the Johnson Family (in particular Sam Johnson). Really enjoyed the short film from the old Worlds Fair...not so much the much longer film mostly about poor Sam Johnson and his tough relationship with his father (its hard too feel too bad for this multi-millionaire's problems and sense of inadequacy). Really loved seeing the Frank (everyone knows his middle name)Wright admin building. Really cool to see and hear about what went into it. Balance of tour was somewhat interesting but nothing I'd choose to spend my time on (even for free).

Frank Lloyd Wright out did himself with this beautiful administration building- still in use today. Multistory concrete mushroom shape colums support the roof and glass tubing allows much of the light source. No photos are allowed inside the building and the group moves together with the docent. The tall building is not open for tours. There is an unusual visitors center which was part of the company's Worlds Fair exhibit in the 60s.
Fortenza Hall is a new addition to the campus and is included in the tour- some history of company and a
separate space for visiting FLWright artifacts, furniture, etc that will be changed out periodically.
Be sure to call ahead to schedule your tour. No fee.

We really enjoyed our guided tour which we booked a few months before our visit. It took about 2 hours and the highlight was walking into the administration building and seeing the "lillypads". The guide was very informative about FLW, his designs and the company history.
