“Good quality, Good service, Overall value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2008

We stayed at the Radisson for 8 nights in February for a combined business trip and visit to family and friends. We took our three year old and 12 year old and because of the time of year, wanted a full service hotel. This turned out to be prudent as we had massive heavy snowfalls during our stay and heading out looking for restaurants would have been hard and dangerous.

The check in staff were delightful and all of the reception staff were peachy. As you would expect in the States, service was excellent. We booked a whirlpool room with harbour view because these rooms were a little larger. The whirlpool was in the room itself which was a bit odd; a massive, old fashioned style jacuzzi. The water slopped over the edge if you turned it on and the noise it made was incredible! we used it to store our luggage in.

The bathroom was clean and decent, not that spacious but perfectly adequate. Plentiful towels and toilettries. We had a massive king bed, very comfortable with the 'sleep number' thing where you press buttons to adjust the hardness of the mattress. I found it a bit weird and we didn't use it.

There was a nice sofa as well, with a bed inside which the kids slept on and was extremely comfortable and high quality. Staff came and made up this bed each night if we wanted them to. Housekeeping did a wonderful job of cleaning our room around all the stuff we had in it!

There is a Chancery restaurant attached to the hotel and separate bar where they also serve food. We ate here most of the time which was quite pricey but the weather was so awful, it was no fun going out in such temperatures. The food was consistently good, amazing breakfasts and very plentiful. There is also room service provided by the Chancery if you want it (limited menu).

There is a pool and hot spa pool in an attractive, locked area which was adequate for our needs and never busy. A tiny fitness room, standard hotel stuff but you could use the extensive facilities at the nearby YMCA if you wanted to as a courtesy. Having had a membership for the Y, I can vouch for the excellence of their gym and fitness facilities, plus kids creche.

The Harbour view was awesome with the lake all iced over and would be just as fabulous in summer when all the boats are back. We had a great, wide panoramic vista view, not a teeny sliver of water type view so it was worth paying for.

They have an enclosed parking structure, all covered right opposite the hotel. There is a charge but when you get 15 inches of snow dumped on you, its worth it! We parked in the handicap space right outside the hotel as one of us is disabled but in this weather, the weather was a pain. The hotel were great though in having someone help dig the car out and keeping it generally ice free.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you need to be in Racine or nearby. It is NOT the cheapest place to stay although there are cheaper rooms, but you get what you pay for and we did not feel cheated.

Downtown Racine is right on your doorstep with many good restaurants - check out the Bistro on Main street. Also on Main Street, the fabulous Racine Art Museum is not to be missed. Shop till you drop in the eye poppingly beautiful museum store, wonderful helpful, knowledgeable staff and the most unusual and luscious things you could hope to find outside of Chicago.

Very pleasant room overlooking the quay and marina no boats this time off year. Stayed for one night on our way north easy drive from chigargo airport. We had dinner and breakfast at the chancery nextdoor the wallie eye is very good. The staff at both the chancery and hotel were very helpful. No sign off any building work which has been mentioned in other reviews.

We got away for a romantic few days and picked this hotel because it was close to home and had great amenities. We got the suite with a wirlpool and made great use of it. Explored downtown racine (walking distance) and had dinner up the road at a great restraunt.

Not a great place unless you happen to get a room that is quiet. A lot of weekenders making way too much noise. Construction of the hotel seemed to use pretty thin walls. Racine is great town with galleries and other amenities. Restaurants are within walking distance. Harbor is nice if you happen to have one of the rooms overlooking the harbor and they've washed the windows. Don't expect much and it will be ok, expect something and you'll be disappointed. Chancery restuarant is very good (attached but not owned by the hotel).

We booked 7 rooms for our family, and everyone was happy with their room. The Chancery catered our Rehersal Dinner in the Zephyr room. The view of the marina was wonderful. The food and presentation outstanding. The staff at both the Chancery and the Radisson were very pleasant, and accommodating. We are looking forward to our next stay.

We stayed at the Radisson Harbourwalk in August 2006 in one of the "updated" rooms. Wow...our room was straight out of a Doris Day movie...white furniture with gold painted accents, turquoise carpeting, old, old, old printed wallpaper (flowers, I think), old bathroom, and a sleep number bed (that and some more modern-looking pictures must have been the updates). Our room was NOT pictured on the website. The place really smells, too. We were supposed to stay two nights but we checked out after the first night and went to chicago. Dump!!!! And not at ALL worth the money!!!

And don't let the harbour shots fool you either. If you pick the Radisson to enjoy the view from your room, you'll be dissappointed too.

My stay was OK, was not there much was in town for a wedding. Long story short, I was double charged on a $250.00 bill on my credit card. Upon contacting the hotel directly, they didn't even apologize for the mistake! They proceded to blame it on my credit card company, then they blamed their computer system, basically they would not fess up to their error, and credit my card back. I could not even get the manager on the phone to voice my displeasure with how they handled the situation, so now maybe after hours of waiting on hold with my credit card co. and the radisson corporate cust. service line, just maybe I'll get my credit back, I can only pray. Somehow I feel I should have been compensated for my frustration, but the radisson felt they didn't need to own up to their 100% customer satisfaction guarantee.
