“Eclectic Menu w/Gluten Free Options”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

My party of four sat outside for dinner on a busy and beautiful (Saturday) summer evening. The simple wire-mesh patio table and chairs were situated along the sidewalk directly in front of the Twisted Willow brick building. Our gracious server (Nancy) started us off with drinks (Graziano Sauvignon, Weissbier, & Lakefront Fixed Gear) and a tasty but pricey appetizer (Crab Artichoke Fondue). Entrees (Gluten Free Lemon Basil Tilapia, Mushroom Stoganoff, Shelbi Sammy Panini, & Baby Back Ribs) were delicious and reasonably priced.

I plan to visit the Twisted Willow again, and look forward to sampling another Chef Wiken creation.

“Local farm fresh food served to you!”
Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I went here September 7, 2013 for our anniversary. Found it on the internet and read the Trip Advisor reviews. When we called for reservations they said 8:15pm for the dining room. ( we knew we probably stumbled on something good just by that ) We sat in the bar which was totally fine. Great atmosphere. The food was interesting, delicious and fresh. I love that they get their food from Wisconsin farmers. The bill came as a surprise; it was very reasonable!! We would definitely dine here again.

“Pleasant; kinks need to be worked out to succeed long term”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Our dinner club ate here after hearing all the positive reviews. Overall it was a pleasant but not spectacular experience. On the positive the restaurant was pleasantly decorated (historic but tastefully contemporary), makes great use of a historical old building (that used to be a hardware store - I'm a lifetime local). The staff was very friendly and eager to please. Entre and drink prices were reasonable. But...entre portion size is a little on the small side. Service was very slow and paced awkwardly (hopefully just growing pains from a busy new restaurant). For example: they served those in our group who ordered soup, first. Then the rest of us who ordered salad instead had to wait until the salads arrived. We had to remind waitress to replace appetizer forks. Our entrees were good but nobody at the table raved about anything. For example: chicken mac-n-cheese was bland, Asian salmon was a little over cooked and had too much hoisin (tasted like out of a bottle) sauce, pot roast was good. I love the concept of "farm to table" and hope it can continue. I also hope diners accept that this means you shouldn't expect asparagus in December. Make your own s'mores for desert was a unique and fun experience! I advise upgrading the chocolate from just Hershey's though. I'll give it another try after all the hoopla dies down and when not on a Saturday night to make a final judgment. I really hope they can succeed but they'll need to refine things and tweak the menu.

“The best place in port!!!”
Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

This new little restaurant is a superb addition to the local area. When you walk in you are greeted with kind faces and atmosphere. The service is so polite and welcoming. But the food is what will keep you coming back. So delicious and comforting. Even the starter bread is so comforting, brings back memories of grandmas home made bread. If I could pick one place to recommend in ozaukee county the twisted willow would be it!!!
