La Quinta Inn Pleasant Prairie Kenosha

This is what you will get from Priceline- a poorly maintained, substandard property with a minimal, poor quality "free" "breakfast".

The property - no elevator, squeaky floor, toilets that constantly run, drains that barely do, leaky shower heads, non-functioning dead bolts, and a consistent worn out appearance throughout.

The breakfast - weak coffee, watered down juices, stale cupcakes, hard boiled eggs that can't be peeled (probably boiled when too fresh) that have obviously been sitting around for days, and little else.

The bed was comfortable and the Samsung HD TV had a good picture (unfortunately very few channels were available).

Got a great price from one of the discounters. We were there for a swim meet just a few miles away and location was nice and convenient. As noted before, the hotel is older and wearing down and doesn't have an elevator, but service was fine and the room was clean. No frills.

I stayed in room 235 for one Saturday evening. Almost missed the room door it as it was positioned right between the Ice facilities and a stairway door. The stairway is positioned on the other side of the wall of the bed headboard. I didn't get woken by any noise from it, but could see potential for it. Room environment unit cycled on even when I turned it off from the wall control. Slight odor of cigarette smoke in the room though. TV was great with wide HD station choices. Wifi reception was very good and no hassle to get through the welcome page and start browsing. Warning: Check your window to make sure that the lock/latch works before settling in. Breakfast was as others have mentioned; lots of bread options, waffles, apple/orange juice, yogurt, coffee. Stand to the right side of the check-in desk, otherwise you will keep triggering the exit door. The staff was very polite for check-in/out. Location is convenient for shopping, food and necessities.

Room Tip: Yup, no elavator for 2nd floor.

Reserved a room at La Quinta in for the weekend, so we could visit our college student. The check in desk is right next to the door where people go to smoke. While checking in all you could smell was smoke even though this is a no smoking facility. After checking in, we realised there isn't an elevator. Fortunately, it's only a two story building. The hotel is general is very dated and the rooms were clean but the carpets were "puckered" and some of the furniture had stains.

When we turned the tv on, it didn't work. We contacted the front desk and becauseit was late, the best they could do was move us into another room (it was done very quickly and the employee was very nice).

The hotel is right across the street from a lot of resurants and some shopping. You are also a short distance from and outlet mall (10 min.) and about 20 min. from Gurnee Mills.

They offer a Continental breakfast which is ok at best. Don't be surprised if you see guest show up in the jammies or with bare feet...kind of tacky.

There are many other hotels in the area and this is one I'm sure we won't be staying at again.

Room Tip: Beds are very hard. There are no elevators, you have to carry luggage up the stairs.

This hotel lost two stars from me for two pretty big issues.

First, if you have a lot of luggage or are traveling with very small children be aware there is no elevator in this hotel. Not a big deal for most, but we were there shopping for the weekend so we had to lug up our luggage, our purchases, our cooler and our infant daughter up the stairs.

Second, and this one is really important for us, the WiFi is awful. You may have a better experience with a laptop but I can tell you that my iPad and my iPhone rarely kept a connection and when it did it was very very slow.

The room was spotless and well appointed with a great HDTV and great channel selection. Breakfast is above average for a budget hotel, but is carb heavy so beware. Staff was very polite and helpful. If you are staying here for outlet mall shopping it is very convenient as the Frontage road that runs along the interstate connects the hotel directly to the outlet mall in Pleasant Prairie. No shortage of restaurants or entertainment nearby.

Room Tip: Request a 1st floor room. No elevator.

This is a small but nice property in a bustling area just off I-94. It is canine friendly for those who travel with pets. The rooms are clean and comfortable but seemed somewhat Spartan without a microwave or frig in the room. Continental breakfast is provided and is ideally suited for brief stay guest. What the hotel lacked in amenities it made up for with friendly and accommodating personnel. The front desk manager, Casey, was more than interested in making our stay pleasant and constantly inquired about how she could be of service. Another associate, Christopher, was kind enough to print our flight boarding passes saving us time that would have been spent standing in line at the airline. The hotel has a good team.
