This restaurant is very rustic looking with a menu to match. Kind of reminded me of Cracker Barrel. We just went for drinks but ended up eating an appetizer sampler...very good beer cheese fondue.

I do not always provide a excellent rating. Especially for breakfast. But this was above average and deserved it. Try the hasbrown casserole. Have a third egg at no extra cost. Get coffee to go. Have some apple wood smoked bacon too. All good.

The restaurant feels like the down home comfort food place it sets out to be. There were so many choices it was difficult to decide what to order and then even harder to finish everything our big eyes had brought to the table. Although it was crowded, the service was good and on the way out we saw some wild turkeys strolling around on the hill behind the parking lot.

Slightly tangy ribs, fried chicken, pork chops, delicious meat loaf, fish fry, even steaks and prime rib - all those down home favorites you probably grew up with! The coleslaw, rolls, fritters and cottage cheese are served family style prior to the meal. A great, casual, farm decore with a little country store in the entry - complete with a 'candy store'. The servers even wear checked shirts and bib overalls! Due to the generous portions, we haven't had the chance to try desserts, yet - maybe next time! Great service, great food, reasonable prices. The meatloaf meal consists of a slice of texas toast with a 1.5 inch slab of yummy meatloaf on top, then a pile of mashed potatoes on top of that - topped off w/ gravy..it's a mountain of food! The smoked prime is good, as are the ribs (full or half rack).
By the way, I think this is The Wisconsin Machine Shed in Waukesha - the street address is the same - just off the interstate, west of Milwaukee, you can find it on Google or Bing maps, either way

After hearing about how good The Machine Shed is, I was hugely disappointed in the entree as well as the service. My dinner companion and I ordered the 'award winning recipe,' Iowa pork chop stuffed with apple raisin stuffing and apple whiskey sauce. What we received was a two inch dry chop, no stuffing, no sauce. When we told the waitress, she said she would bring the stuffing on the side. 10 minutes later she did. Horrible.
After a long day of work, this was a huge, overpriced disappointment.
