Be advised - Reservations are mandatory! A beautiful drive to a beautiful setting, but when I pay fifty percent more I expect fifty percent more. We didn't get it! Our fish and pasta dishes were perfectly cooked. Our two steaks were both overcooked. The owner met us and is very personable and involved in the property. It is a truly hidden gem in the north woods. The perfect place for a weekend of romance, golf and touring. It's a shame that the dinner was not up to the standards set by the rest of the property

We arrived at the Four Seasons Restaurant on Labor Day weekend (Sunday evening) without a reservation, partially because we forgot it was Labor Day and we thought Sunday would be a slow day! Just my husband and me, the hostess asked if we had reservations (near a sign that said "reservations recommended") and we shamefacedly said "no", we had not thought to call ahead and make reservations. Not to worry, she said, she would go and check with the chef, but she thought she could get the two of us in before some larger groups that were scheduled shortly. Sure enough, she came back in a few minutes, and we were seated at a beautiful table on the lovely porch. Our server was perfect - there when we needed him but not overly solicitous so that we couldn't carry on a conversation. We had a wonderful time! The salmon was delicious, my steak and mushroom alfredo luscious, and the courtesy shown by the staff couldn't have been better.
Bottom line, the courteous staff at this restaurant makes all the difference!!

The staff was first class, the menu covered all our tastes, the quality not what you would expect in the northwoods.

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. It was a superior meal from the beginning to the end. Their prime rib was some of the best we have ever had. I had walleye that was cooked to perfection. They start with a garlic olive oil that is a dipping sauce for bread. It gets the palate ready for the rest of the meal. Their salads had homemade dressing and croutons. Their soup of the day was very good. They make all of their desserts in house and had a nice selection. We had to split one for the 6 of us due to eating too much for dinner. We had two bottles of the 14 hands Merlot, which is an excellent Washington wine. Our server was very professional. The restaurant staff were more experienced and mature than any of the hotel staff. The setting was a perfect complement to a perfect meal. Reservations required.
