Our family has been staying at The Goose annually over the last 10 years (and more). The cabins and 2 homes for rent are now part of a condominium plan on Round Lake located facing the West - it gets some great sunsets. We've stayed at cabins and have been in Mallard and Grouse homes book-ending the cabins in between. Lake access is excellent with a small beach area for kids and 2 dock stations for boats. The historical grill and bar is now closed but you can cook your meals and enjoy dinners on your decks. Fishing opportunities are alive on all 4 lakes in the chain with a host of big and small fish options. Round Lake usually serves as the boating/skiing lake but it has never been under heavy pressure. This year there is a tough mosquito population given the late icemelt and rain. The rentals are maintained and kept clean by Randy and Becky who live next door. Great family vacation. Check the DNR for the latest lake walleye bag limits before you go and understand that different lakes on the chain may have different bag limits. I'm rating The Grouse and the Pike/Round Lake chain experience as usually very good.
