“Pies, pies, pies!!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

We jumped off I94 to check out this classic. It was a snowy day and the Scandinavian theme was perfect. Great sandwiches...I had the Rueben, my son had a heart stopping bacon cheese burger. My wife had the fish...very tasty. And pies...many to choose from. We took ours to go.

“Good home cooking and best pie you'll ever have!”
Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

Family restaurant with focus on Norwegian dishes and comfort food like roast beef and gravy on real mashed potatoes. There are at least 20 different options of pie to choose from at any given time, all dished out in more than generous proportions. Definitely worth the stop as you pass through Osseo on the interstate!

“It's like Eating at Grandma's House”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

Grandma was born in Lillehammer, Norway and learned how to cook from her mother. Grandma was an excellent cook. Whether it's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, every meal at the Norske Nook tastes like it was just made by Grandma for you. The scrambled eggs are nice and fluffy and neither over or under cooked and so are the pancakes. One's mouth waters just thinking of stopping there to eat. One of the house specialties is the hot pork, or beef, or turkey sandwiches that is served on homemade bread, a big scoop of mashed potatoes and covered with a natural gravy. Since the food portions are so generous, I usually order only a half sandwich or roast port, my favorite, as i want to have space left in my stomach for a piece of their award winning pies. In addition to being a restaurant, the Norske Nook is a bakery and one may purchase cookies, whole pies, and lefse. It has entered the National Pie Contest and half of their pies have been winners of the Blue Ribbon. Any pie one eats will become and instant new favorite at the Norske Nook since it will taste so good. The eating area is tastefully decorated and the waitresses are dressed in native Norwegian dresses. If one overhears a conversation or two, it reveals that a large number of the patrons are people from the community who know where to find good food at a reasonable price. There's no sticker shock at the prices in the menu and final bill. Stop here and eat well.

“excellent breakfast again”

Country fried steak and gravy and eggs were excellent. Homemade bread is wonderful. Portions are large and food is hot and service is friendly. They are famous for their pies.

“Charming informal restaurant”
Reviewed November 23, 2012 via mobile

Food is great, especially the lefse wraps and soups. Pie is exceptional. They have won many national awards for their pies. They also sell other pastries and breads, and have another shop across the street which is a gift shop and a coffee shop. It's popular with travelers and locals too. The walls are decorated with tole work and la charming mural which depicts a meadow in Norway.
