Even though I'm not "into" airplanes, I can easily spend 4-5 hours here. There is so much history and other things of interest.

Interesting to all ages. So many different types of aircraft of all sizes, as well as lots of aviation history. A don't-miss for Oshkosh.

For those of you who have always wanted to go to Airventure in Oshkosh, simply bite the bullet and GO !! You do NOT have to own a plane or be a pilot to appreciate the diversity of history, technology and design that is seen at this yearly get - together. ( airventure.org ) That being said, part of the visit has to be the EAA Air Museum, which shows the diverse range of aircraft that have been built and flown over the last century. Definitely not as big as the Smithsonian museum, but still well worth the visit.

You don't need to be an airplane buff to find this place interesting. It has a huge display of experimental aircraft and memoribila and will keep you occupied for at least a few hours.

The model and exhibits relating to World War II were well done and the exhibits of the Battle of Midway in particular were very informative.

The Rutan Voyager model captured my imagination. Even though I had followed the press coverage at the time it is quite something to actually see a replica of the Voyager model.

There is a large shop and many volunteers who are happy to answer questions and provide more background as you view.

Highly recommended.

Air venture musem is a great place to visit. And the yearly air show is spectacular, as are the vendor booths. Even if you aren't in the market for a new plane you'll see some of the most inovative aircraft imaginable.
