“It was OK”
Reviewed September 26, 2010

Stopped here for Sunday dinner. Like the other reviews said, you sit at the bar and have a drink then order your food. After about 20 minutes they call your name and have your table for you. I had the NY Strip and it was done nicely. Wife had the Orange Roughy and she said it was OK. I ordered the crab cakes and they were horrible. A patty of fried mush. All in all, I can't say it was the best steak I've ever eaten nor the worst. It was your average Wisconsin supper club. You get a plate of salad and a dinner roll. Most likely won't stop here again as there are plenty of other supper clubs in this immediate area to try out.

“This is where you want to eat after the races at Road America”
Reviewed July 21, 2009

Just a short drive from Elkhart Lake in the tiny burg of St Anna, Wisconsin, Schwarz Supper Club is a quirky but excellent restaurant. The quirky part comes as soon as you walk in the door - a lovely young hostess (more about that later) hands you menus, you are asked to make your dinner choices while waiting at the bar, and when the first course is ready, they call your name and lead you to a table that is laid out with your salads, bread and chilled veggie appetizer plate. I think the reason for this procedure is to sell more drinks at the bar. Fortunately, they have a well stocked bar with many different beers on tap and in bottles. You can wait outside on nice days, they have an outdoor PA system too.

In a little while your name is called and dinner proceeds normally from there. I ordered a New York Strip steak, cooked medium. It was a little on the rare side for me, but every steak house does medium differently, and better rare than well done. Otherwise the steak was excellent, sweet, juicy and with a great charred flavor on the crust. Excellent side dishes, I ordered vegetables and they were a variety of fresh veggies lightly cooked. Service was very attentive while we were seated and we never ran out of water. The best part? The whole meal (aside from drinks) was $20 with tax!

PROS: The staff: they all seem to be very attractive blond women ranging from teenagers to about 40 or so. They must be related or trucked in from Southern California, no way there's that many beautiful women in a tiny burg the size of St. Anna. Obviously this pro is mostly for the guys. Large variety to the menu - steaks, many seafood dishes, etc. Food and service are excellent and a screaming bargain.

CONS: There is smoking at the bar, but not in the dining rooms, which are completely separate. If you sit in the near dining room by the entrance you get a little whiff once in a while. I'm very sensitive to tobacco smells (not reactive, I just hate the smell) and it didn't bother me at all. Also, when the place is busy, it is VERY busy! We got there early - about 4:30 - and didn't have to wait, but when we left at 6:00 there was a crowd.
