Description: It was 1974 when our country had its first gas crisis. The price of gasoline was skyrocketing, gas stations were closing nationwide, and carmakers began exploring how to develop cars that got better mileage. But for George "Jig" Warren III and Gary "Moe" Meszaros, it wasn't about better mileage or for that matter even obeying the new 55 M.P.H speed limit. It was about finding a home to preserve the culture of those old gas stations and high-powered muscle cars. So was born Quaker Steak & Lube(R), a "Cook Your Own Steak" restaurant that gave old muscle cars a permanent home, which included a 1936 Chevrolet, frozen in time on the original hydraulic grease rack. It is from these beginnings that the Quaker Steak & Lube(R) family of restaurants began. Today, "The Lube(R)" serves over 80 million wings annually, has bottled sauces for retail sale, has won the title of "Best Wings USA," and has hundreds of local, national, and international awards for their sauce recipes. Over 60 locations throughout the United States and Canada, "The Lube(R)" is still rescuing muscle cars, vintage cars, trucks and a vast selection of custom and antique motorcycles, giving them good homes hanging from the walls and ceilings in each restaurant.

I didn't know what to expect as place looked a bit cheesy from the outside. However, the beer selection was great and the bartenders were too. I was only in to grab a beer so I didn't eat but the wings and menu looked appealing. Very happy I opted to visit here instead of BW3.

Everything is good here. Doesn't matter whether you want burgers, ribs or just a selection of appetizers, they offer it.

We arrived and there was no host/hostess, older lady appear from the "dining room" sat us and we had a very nice server....receipt says "Miron." I don't recall his name tag saying Miron, as I would have remembered that, so just not sure. Anyway, lady that played hostess had the first table in the dining room set up as an "office." Seriously, a bunch of paperwork and she even made a call on her phone asking where someone was (a worker, when are you coming in). Anyway, place was empty, in the dining room and we watched her do some paperwork and chat with another employee. She was 2 tables away. Hubby ordered a burger, mazarotti(2) had 2 mozzarella cheese sticks on the top of it. He was 1/2 way through the burger and found a big piece of bone, pulled it out of his mouth.....I thought it was his tooth!!!! It was that big. He had fries with his burger. I had the shrimp basket. Was shrimp, like you would make in the oven at home, pre-breaded, frozen kind you would put in the oven. Had the mac and cheese with it....was just like Buffalo Wild Wings mac and cheese....almost exact, with slaw. Very unimpressive. Food was served quick and hot. Hubby had 22 oz miller lite tap, was fine. I had Bud Light in can (tall). The cans must have been in ice, fridge or something, with other food as the cans smelled/coated with food odor....something was on those cans. Not sure how they were stored, but you could smell and feel some kind of residue. As we were 1/2 way through our meal, (seated at a booth/table along the wall) no one else was in the restaurant, and the next couple that came in was sat RIGHT next to us, in an empty restaurant!!! The woman of the other party even made a comment to the hostess/server...do we have to be on top of each other. Was kind of awkward. This was our third and last time. Should we feel the need for this type of food/atmosphere, will go to Buffalo Wild Wings across the street, no skunky beer cans, better food and atmosphere. Other than our server, not much positive to say, other than the manager came over, took the large piece of bone from hubby's burger and took his burger off the bill.

We had never heard of this restaurant prior to eating there. Walking in and seeing all of the automotive decor was fun, especially for the kids. The service was fantastic! The food was average, but we would definitely go there again.

Having only ever seen this place in commercials, we had no idea what it was inside. Given that there was a Harley event going on in the back parking lot, we figured it'd be mobbed inside, but it wasn't. The overflow park-n-ride lot next door made things easy on us. Happily surprised by the wings, pretzels, and even the buffalo chicken pasta dish we had. Service was efficient and pleasant even given that we were only two and there were two tables of 8+ in the same section. Gives me a place to look for the next time we're on the road.
