“Awesome food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2013 via mobile

We were pleasantly surprised. A very neat old building, so the atmosphere was cool. The sandwiches were the best I have had for a long time. They were large enough for two. The ice cream come were
terrific. We'll go back whenever we are in the area!

“Ice cream at its finest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013

We have stopped for years at the Nelson Creamery for their Ice Cream. The price is very reasonable and their outside seating is very refreshing We will stop again

“Cute Shop”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

This is a very cute shop in the tiny town of Nelson, WI. They are well known for their ice cream, but they sell a wide selection of cheese and wines and also serve sandwiches. There's a cozy seating area to enjoy your food and/or a glass of wine. Our young daughter wanted ice cream so that was our reason for stopping. They had 8 types to choose from, none of which were overly exciting. What floored me the most is that they do NOT offer samples of ice cream -- not even to kids! You have to buy the whole cone to find out if they like it or not. Granted, one scoop costs only $1.50, but it's still wasteful if they don't like it. This is the only ice cream shop that I've ever been in (and I've been in quite a few!) that doesn't allow samples. My other suggestion would be to offer samples of cheese. There are so many to choose from and so many different varieties that it would be nice to sample some before buying a whole wedge or block. They also don't offer half sandwiches (except for the daily special with a cup of soup). My rating would have been higher if they offered ice cream samples -- at least to kids!
