Love pizza? Love eating outdoors? You should not miss this place. The best pizza I ever had anywhere in the world. All made to order and baked in a wood fired oven.
Sitting outside by the herb garden adds to the ambiance. I cannot say enough just how good this busy little gem of a place is.

July 2013 is my 3rd visit here and it such a great way to spend a summer evening. I am hoping they consider offering rooms for sleeping after indulging in pizza and wine! I can highly recommend a bottle ..or two..of the Lost Angel with the Supreme. A nice evening is to stay nearby at the Pepin Motel and then breakfast at the Homemade Cafe the next day.

We drove about an hour and a half to this place. Great country roads and nice scenery from pretty much any direction you are coming from. Neat farm and great pizza. One pizza was enough for us... two adults and two kids but would suggest more than one pizza if there are four adults or more as it is very thin crust and one pizza might not be enough. Great selection of unique pizzas and love this off the beaten path type place. The owners were very friendly as well. Save room for ice cream after the great pizza:)

They are not open all year so make sure to check before heading there. Just open late spring into early fall. Also only Fri, Sat, Sun.

Tucked in the hills outside Nelson, WI is an old stone barn that has been converted into a wonderful pizza restaurant. Open only Friday - Sunday from late Spring through early Autumn this is a perfect stop for anyone visiting the Lake Pepin area's art galleries and shops. It also is about an hour's drive from Rochester, MN so anyone visiting Mayo Clinic and having time to "kill" by exploring the region should consider a visit. The Stone Barn specializes in thin crust pizza made to order and worth the wait. While waiting you can enjoy wine from a very nice selection of mid-range wines either by the glass or bottle. They have a number of standard combination pizzas but will assemble one for you with any combination of available items that you want. On a nice evening you can dine outside surrounded by flowers growing from stone walls or dine inside the old barn itself when the weather is bad. Late afternoon in summer can be busy so be prepared to have to wait for your pizza--other times you may find that you are one of only a few tables inside the old barn. No matter what the weather, the pizza is definitely worth a drive and a wait!

We spent last Saturday evening sitting outside among the picturesque bluffs and a corn field eating pizza and drinking wine! Very pretty night! Delicious artesian pizza, wine, beer and ice cream! Relaxing and good conversation! Good prices.
