“Kitschy in a good way”
Reviewed September 25, 2012

We went there during the summer so I can't comment on the skiiing. We went here for a wedding and loved the place. Very kitschy and cute. It made me smile.

“Have the pain killers ready!”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

Tyrol is a great place to ski/snowboard. It isn't all that expensive compared to places in the nearby area. There are about 12 runs i believe, all of varrying dificulty. It was a long time since i had skied, and boy was i sore. But it was deffinately worth the $.

“A peaceful retreat to observe nature in summer”
Reviewed May 27, 2012

Feels like you are transported to Europe, even in the summer when you can see the green ski hills from outside buildings that feel Swiss or German from the style of architecture. Lovely flowers and small waterfalls and charming dining hall with newly finished wood floors that breathe "community." Open only for weddings and special events in summer I understand, but it's free to take a look at this peaceful place in the countryside outside Madison, Wisconsin

“so much is wrong with this place”
Reviewed February 24, 2012

I don't even know where to start on how bad this place is. In a nut shell - they cater to the rude snowboarder and they don't seem to care about anyone else. We went there after a 2-4 inch snow fall. Only 2 of their three crappy lifts were open and because there was no school for most of the state the place was very busy. Not sure why the third lift wasn't open. When I asked a lift operator -- I got a snotty answer that I couldn't even understand. When I asked a second staff about this -- the response was that they open this at 4 pm because there was a snow fall the night before. This doesn't even make sense!!! (Also we left at 4:45 and the C lift was still not open). Seems like a lot of their staff is not too bright. The lift lines are not managed -- one is in the configuration of a s -- not sure who thought of this -- but is sucked trying to get through it. Really poorly, poorly managed. I never saw a single patroller the entire day on a run. The restaurant and food area was filthy. The garbage and recycling containers where overflowing and they were never cleared the entire day. The floors were slippery -- at the top of the stairs I saw at least 5 folks slip and fall in an hours time. The small tech/clothing store -- was closed in the middle of the day -- staff had a sign up that they would be back in 15 minutes -- however they were gone much longer. The place is so bad that the $12 dollar ticket well wasn't even worth it. Go elsewhere, pay more and get more.

“Nice ski hill close by”
Reviewed January 26, 2012

You can't beat the $12 weekday rate. No high speed lift, but kids love going there. Not a lot of runs. One criticism: end of first ski hill is the lodge so if you aren't a pro at stopping you will run into the people just standing at the bottom. Wish there was a run for only snowboarders as the teenage girls "fall" and stay there forever, making it difficult to get around them.
