This is what you get when very smart people run a restaurant! You can find the menu on line, and it changes but keeps rotating patron favorites, so it's easy to see what's on offer and the costs. If you click on the menu items, you can see a picture of what awaits - and be forewarned: these are generous portions, not small plates designed to look full of food. Arrive hungry!
We ordered Lobster Bisque as our starter, and it was a full bowl with a lobster tail -cooked to perfection! A small salad of greens was then served to prepare for the next course, which we choose to be the lamb special. It came with four spears of asparagus anchored to a mound of mashed potatoes, cascading from a fan of melt-in-your-mouth tender lamb. This was all sitting atop a plate darkened with sauce that was flavorful without being overly salty. Though we were full, we couldn't resit ordering dessert, which I had the sticky toffee pudding, and my husband had the lemon pound cake. Every last bite was mind-blowing pleasure.
We have been avoiding this place because of a years-earlier mediocre experience. Either we had a one-off bad night, or these folks have really worked to perfection. We now intend to become regulars.
My Tip: Go early, we were the only ones for quite a while, but when other diners came, it did get a bit loud, and the acoustics allowed me to hear quite clearly people's conversations. Also, it was a lot of food. Wear something lose because it's too good and you won't be able to stop yourself to have them box it up for you. Also, ask for more bread to sop up the sauces; it's classier than licking the plate. Finally: Just go! You will kick yourself that you haven't been sooner.
