I generally avoid Super 8 these days because most locations are substandard.
As a 125 night per year salesman, I've become a hotel expert in my territory during my 23 years traveling. This location is exceptional.
The only opportunity for improvement, which is needed in every hotel would be more and better located outlets to plug in my iPad, phone, and laptop.
We stayed here 2 times in September. The other motel we like was booked up on these 2 nights because of Cheese Days.
Our first night went great. We had a room in the west wing . It was very very nice , lots of room and nice and clean and the bed was very comfy. Nice work area for your computer and lots of choices on TV....
The waffles are good and they have yogurt , hard boiled eggs , cereal ...
The pool area looks nice but we did not use it ...
Our second night , we were in the old part of the motel and had to take a smaller room #219 with one bed , not what we wanted but it was the only room in town because of Cheese Days. Right away I noticed the smell of smoke ...it was really bad so I light up my scented candle. Dont they know that a previous smoking room will always stink ??? And dont they know that a person who asks for a non smoking room might have health issues...they dont care...its all about money ! The room is small , the bed is small and the mattress is pure trash...every inch of this thing sqeaked and it was hard as a rock :( I was strongly tempted to sleep in the recliner ! The computer chair was hard as cement so I sat on a pillow while I worked at the computer. Not good for the next person who uses that pillow because I have gas ! The toilet paper was one ply and scratchy. Boy was I disgusted with this room and the next morning the gal says was your stay OK...we say no it was not...did you get that mattress out of the dumpster over at St Vinny's ??? And to add insult to injury , we had to pay almost $30 more for this room because of Cheese Days ....She was not concerned in the least...after all they got our money so who gives a rats rear! After we returned home , I wrote them an email , debating should I dispute the charge , call the BBB , put up a really ugly review ??? They did call us promptly and issue a refund $21.90..WOW how generous of them considering the room cost $107.18...It is times like this that makes us wish we would have bought a camper !
admittedly I went in not expecting much. I figured no frills, bottom of the barrel hotel. I was wrong. Mary checked us in, 3 rooms arriving 3 hours before check in time, with a huge smile and wonderful attitude. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Recent renovation maybe? Pool area was perfect for 8 year olds. The only thing I did not find way above average was the breakfast, which was "Ok". For around $75 you can not go wrong.
