“Golf Trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2013

Fox Hills is a great place to hold a golf outing. They have a nice variety of courses, including The National, which is a challenging yet fun course to play. It has a number of tee boxes that go all the way back to almost 7200 yds so it can be a challenge for all players. Their other three 9-hole courses, called Fox Creek, are also fun and challenging to play. My favorite part of going to Fox Hills is that after we park our cars on Friday, we don't have to start them again until we leave on Sunday. They have an open late lounge if you are so inclined and a nice sit down restaurant as well. The entire place in convenient as the rooms, restaurant and lounge are all connected so you don't even have to go outside if you don't want to. The prices are very reasonable too. We've been here a number of times now and will continue to come back.

What a review! We appreciate you sharing some details about our golf courses with other potential guests. We're proud to offer a challenging and enjoyable variety of options for golfers of all skill levels. And you're right—once you leave your car, you shouldn't have to see it again until you're checked out. You're welcome back anytime, Bill. Come see us again soon for another weekend golf outing!

Best wishes,

This is my 8th year in our golf outing group and I believe the group's 14th year. We were pleasantly surprised that the rooms got upgraded with new bedding and new TVs.

As always, the golf courses are in great shape and the service we got from the staff was exceptional.

A special thank you to Josh, the club pro for making sure our group is able to play even with some rainy conditions. Another shutout to Meghan, Jenna and Ursula for keeping us Bigfooters well 'hydrated'.

Our group has been going to Fox Hills for 14 years! We're up to 32 golfers and will usually stay in the villas. The rooms were updated since last year and were very clean, comfortable, and spacious. The large jacuzzi bath soothed my aching muscles after 36 holes each day. The variety of golf is excellent with 27 holes at Fox Creek and 18 at the National. Benchwarmers (their bar / lounge) was a great place to see the Blackhawk's get into the Stanley Cup Finals.

I just came back from our annual golf outing to Fox Hills. The villas had been remodeled and while some of the reviews rightly talk about the outdated bathrooms, ours was clean, with plenty of hot water. The red, white, and blue 9-holes where in very good condition and the National was in great condition despite the heavy rain they had the prior week. The staff was very helpful , arranging for us to keep our carts all day , and even coming to the villas to retrieve the carts on our last day there.

If you are looking for a 5 star resort, you will be dissappointed , but I don't think there is a better golf value for the money anywhere. Our group of 32 golfers will be returning next year.

We just returned from a week at Fox Hills, arriving Friday May 31. The condo was a two bedroom, very large rooms, very clean, partly redecorated (the kitchen could use some updating), but as I said, very clean and that is soooo important to us. My cousin from northern Wisconsin drove over to join us for two days and they agreed, a wonderful set up for two couples or families. Lots of privacy and space. We were on the ground floor of Villa 6. They had pools, hot tubs, tennis, golf of course and some other amenities. We did golf, but did not try the other things, but watched some guests in the indoor pool and they were having a great time. Now, the restaurants.....We ate breakfast daily in the Willowview. They have a buffet OR order from menu setup. Everything we had was very very good. We ate dinner twice and enjoyed a couple of evenings in the Lounge for a drink. I cannot say enough about the staff, especially Justin who served us breakfast almost daily and Jess who also waited on us several times. We had the opportunity to visit with these two young people (both going to college). The outgoing, friendly and professional service was truly amazing! The staff when we checked in were super as well. We definitely would highly recommend this resort. My cousin and husband were thoroughly impressed and will recommend it for their family reunion. Our weather could have been a little warmer (55-62) that week, but not a lot of rain thankfully, but then we would have had to score them a 5+. We saw Two Rivers and Manitowoc and went to Door County, Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay.......super time in Northern Wisconsin and what a lovely bunch of Wisconsinites everywhere we went!!!!! Did I mention a mid week...trash/fresh towels etc. NICE

Room Tip: Our ground unit in villa 6 was super and laid out for lots of privacy. It is close to the restaurant...

63mossy, it always makes our day when we hear from an enthusiastic guest. Thank you for sharing your experience with us! It sounds like you truly enjoyed everything from start to finish. We're still in the process of updating many of our guestrooms and villas, but you can always expect your condo to be clean, fresh and inviting. I'll pass along your compliments to the housekeeping staff as well as Justin, Jess and everyone who took such great care of you in our restaurants. Friendly service is all part of how we make our guests feel welcome. We'd love to have you back again next year! Don't be a stranger.

The villa we stayed at with our timeshare was very large and comfortable. We had Internet in our unit, even though the info about the resort said we would not. Our villa was beautiful inside and likely updated recently, unlike some of the reviews. We had a nice view of the golf course. Not too much to do in Mishicot, but Two Rivers, Manitowoc, etc. were nearby. I enjoyed those towns even more than Door County. We had terrible experiences at the restraurant at the Fox Hills Resort, so one time was enough. We never went to the Embers Restaurant, a short walk away, as there was never more than one car there even on a weekend night at dinner times. Also the reviews on Tripadvisor were terrible, so no need to place ourselves in that situation. The RCI info about this resort stated that there was a VCR and DVD available, but there was no VCR in our unit. Cell phone reception was not strong some of the time in our unit, so several calls were dropped. The resort is missing a lot of business by not having a better restaurant. None of the restaurants are even listed with Tripadvisor. Overall a nice week with things to do nearby.

We have held our golf outing at Fox Hills for 30 consecutive years. We continue to enjoy top shelf golf, accomodations, food and service. We have already booked our 31st outing. There are 32 people in this event and all are super fans of Fox Hills!

ouiser11,

What can we say but thank you? It's been amazing hosting you and your entire group for now 30 years, and we can't wait for the 31st! We'll be ready to welcome all 32 of you with a smile and the same superb service you've been enjoying since 1983.
