Description: Nestled in the heart of Northern Wisconsin’s lake country, the Minocqua Brewing Company is housed in an historic landmark building located on the island city’s north shore. Built in 1927 as a Masonic Temple, the building was transformed into a micro brewery and restaurant seventy years later. The brewery houses a seven and a half barrel system producing seven kinds of ales and lagers. The bar features a fine selection of wines, and cocktails, along with the skillfully crafted signature beer selections. The brewery's restaurant offers an interesting assortment of appetizers, sandwiches, soups, and salads with a gourmet twist.

This is a newer restaurant/brewery. When you enter the front door there are steps to go up and down which was surprising. The steps down are only about 5 and having a handicapped person in our party they were able to negotiate them. The hostess asked if we wanted to go up more steps to sit in an area with a view of the water but we chose to sit in a nice little dining area by the bar with a fireplace. The menu is not large but there is enough variety to please everyone. There are nightly specials. The tenderloin sandwich was very good. It is served with chips for $12 but can substitute ff for a small additional charge. The waitress was friendless and service was very good. I would recommend this restaurant.

We want to thank you for visiting our restaurant. We are always happy to hear of enjoyable experiences.

Just to clarify, although our restaurant and brewery has three levels, there is a handicap accessible entrance on the east side of the building. That allows those who have trouble with stairs the opportunity to utilize our elevator which then gets you to our lower dining, and upper level lounge!

Thanks again,

Douglas Etten

In the winter, due to smaller crowds during the non-vacation season, the brewery expands its evening menu. The TBone is outstanding! Freshly cut, quite large and grilled to perfection. Beers are awesome. Go for the MPA if you are a hop head. If not, try the Lager.

Nothing really special. Beer is better from a bottle anywhere else. What do you expect from a Brewery where the owner doesn't even drink beer? Wait staff was nice. I would suggest you BYOB, but you can't.

Stopped into the Minocqua Brewing Co on a cold winter afternoon and enjoyed a beer flight/tasting. Also, had the artichoke dip which was very tasty.
