We had a Groupon for a sampler platter for two which we decided to use for lunch as we were enjoying a day exploring Milwaukee. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Our was food order was taken and while we waited we enjoyed an Ethopian beer and an African red wine. Our sampler platter arrived in about 15 minutes and the spices and flavors were wonderful. Since it was our first time we learned to eat with the tasty warm bread as no utensils are provided. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed it at the special table for two. We will definitely plan a return visit!

Tried this place because we were eating a grain free diet, and the TEFF caught out attention. We were very surprised by the food itself, and if you tell them you are eating grain/gluten free, they prepare the dishes for you at no extra cost. The Ethiopian food was different, but not so unusual that everyone could not enjoy it. Be prepared to eat with your hands, picking up the food with the Teff (like crepes).

Nice staff and a delicious menu make Ethiopian Cottage a great choice for a dinner out. GF injera is a available upon request. Traditional Ethiopian stews and vegetables are served on Injera, on a platter, and eaten traditionally with your hands, picking up the stews with the flat bread. Delicious spices and flavors permeate the options. It's definitely something to try if you haven't had this cuisine, and we will definitely return!

Delicious vegetarian "beyaynetu" (combo platter). Awesome seasonings and portions were great for the sharing size. Atmosphere is really relaxing and the server was very friendly. Definitely check it out!

We have been to this restaurant a couple of times - and have always enjoyed ourselves. The hosts are very welcoming and make sure that you thoroughly enjoy your Ethiopian dining experience. We sat at traditional Ethiopian table settings but standard seating is also available. They explain which foods are spicy and which are more mild. You eat all the food with the Ethiopian injera bread. We also ordered the Ethiopian coffee service - which they made right in the dining room. A delightful experience.
