My wife and I had dinner here two nights ago on a short trip to Wisconsin. Being a Sunday night, the restaurant was busy but not crowded and had a relaxed air about it. The décor at first seemed very bright, but once settled in, we noticed that the décor was modern, yet comfortably traditional at the same time and just had a good feel about it. It is located right next to the beautiful classic Hotel Pfister in downtown Milwaukee.

On Sunday night, the restaurant features a $20.00 three course dinner with $15.00 bottles of wine, an incredible value. The regular menu is also available but we took advantage of this remarkable bargain. Our wine was a cabernet, Guerdoc, which was fine for the cheap price tag. We both had chopped salads - very freshly made with a tangy dressing. I had an 8 oz. cut of prime rib, thin but flavorful served with Yorkshire pudding. My wife's chicken was beautifully prepared. For extra sides we chose a roasted cauliflower and broiled mushrooms - both were excellent. Carrot cake and chocolate cake were the desserts. Again, exceptional value. We would like to return here and enjoy dinner from the regular menu. The kitchen is open-air and there is also a counter for added convenience and for solo diners.

started off our meal with a cocktail - both were very good. Bread service was a parmesan encrusted lavosh bread-outstanding, Then we split a shrimp cocktail , cooked perfect with a great sauce. My husband had the bone-in filet, I had the braised short rib. The filet was cooked perfect! The short rib needed more sauce ,the only downfall :( . Theresa ,our waitress did a great job navigating the menu and answered all our questions .She gave prompt and wonderful service .

We went here to celebrate our 37th anniversary. It was by far the best food and service we have ever had. We will be coming back again and again. We both had the tenderloin and it melted in our mouth, with great flavor.

Had the tuna app (fantastic), chop salad (very good but heavy on dressing) and bone in filet (creamy but not cooked evenly). The mushrooms and broccoli side orders were a little too rich but yummy in moderation; the mashed potatoes weren't really to my liking. People at my table swear by this place, and although I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Milwaukee, it's not quite exquisite. The was hopping, but the restaurant was pretty boring. Also, turn off the heat, it was like 80 degrees in the restaurant!

Great seating, service and the food.......Excellent!!! From the very friendly young lady who greets you to the waiter, waiter's helper and the valet parking man, this place is First class. My wife's salmon was perfect and they had one of the best "ribs" I have ever tasted. The entired dinner was romantic and not rushed in any way. Prices are what you would expect. I wish they had a white vinfedel wine but it didn't really matter after having such a great time. Can't wait to go back for one of their steak dinners.
