“movie palace from yesteryear”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

Love that we can see current movies in a movie palace. The red glowing elephants and gilded murals add to the experience. You can get alcoholic beverages and good coffee too, but since this place is surrounded by every kind of bar you could possibly want, I usually save that for afterwards.

“Oriental Theatre in October a must!”
Reviewed July 3, 2013 via mobile

We went here in October to watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show and it was completely enjoyable. The theatre is very historic with a excellent screen and delicious popcorn. A must see if in Milwaukee!

“Comfortable throwback to simpler times”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

This is not just a place to watch movies, but a trip back in time. We love coming to the Oriental to watch current releases as well as foreign films. Comfortable, clean, and up to date facilities with the charm of yesteryear. They serve cappuccino and other drinks other than the usual soda.

“Classic Old Theater”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

Great architectural details and film choices; Not many food choices though. Have to search for street parking so allow enough time.

“Not overly "restored"--like the original, "real deal"”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

How I remember the grand theaters just before and after the introduction of Cinemascope--the Bijou, the Coronado, the Rialto, etc. etc. You can have your domestic flat screen ("smart TV"). I'll take the Oriental any day as the right setting for what Orson Welles called a "ribbon of dreams."
