We went to Mass here at 10:00, and there was a short 'guided' tour and explanation after the Mass. The view of this church is amazing everywhere you look. From the exterior, full of architectural beauty, and the inside is just gorgeous. Every single thing was decorated, the ceiling and walls are full of paintings of Jesus and the saints. The pillars were sculpted marbles, and the stained glass were beautiful, too. Definitely a must see for visitors, considering it is free and oh so beautiful.

“Beautiful! Beautiful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

This Basilica is so beautiful. It is modeled after St. Peters in Rome. Lots of local history. We attended Mass on Saturday evening and between the beauty of the building, the organ music and the wonderful lady singing....you would think you were in heaven. Not Catholic? It is still worth visit as the architecture and materials used to build it is amazing. In the 1920's it was one of three Basilica's in the United States. Will return on my next visit to Milwaukee.

“Just Beautiful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2012

We went to the 10:00 Mass on Sunday. There's a 20 minute tour and history talk after Mass. It was just gorgeous. Every where you look is something beautiful and unique. Paintings of Polish history, events in the life of St. Francis, stained glass of the saints, and images of Christ's life. The architecture is outstanding--carved and painted, and gold-leafed. It was hard to concentrate during Mass, I kept getting distracted by the art all around me. I could have spent hours wandering around soaking it all up, but my fellow travellers were waiting for me. I hope to get back there again.
